Having put away my last PC several years ago in favour of a laptop, it looks like I'm going to have to get a gaming pc to play COD when I see how it plays. In order to save money I'm wondering whether I could play COD on my HD TV and use it's surround sound system, rather than fork out on a new monitor and speakers.
Does anybody already do this on IL-2 ?

Yeah, most new graphic cards have the hdmi connections right on the back, so you can hook it up to your reciever and get 1080p output and surround sound through the one cable like any other component that you would connect to your tv. Just make sure you know what you are buying when you buy a new graphics card and you should be ok if you want to go that route.

LOL, as long as you don't have to share the TV!
And you could use the laptop to display gauges via devicelink if you network it to your gaming PC. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif Have The Ball, VSI, Speed, Alt, Engine gauges always at a quick glance.
Actually that might not be a bad use for a small screen netbook or tablet, would fit right under my monitor.

One of the Mrs's main complaints when I used to play IL2 a lot, was that I would disappear for hours on end and she would be left watching TV on her own. If I run COD on the TV, she'll not be able to complain about that and will probably end up wishing I had got a monitor !!
"Using the laptop to display gauges", now I'm getiing exited http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
