I am crashing now too, but I get the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH with an nv4disp error. It's obviously related to my nvidia cards, but the drivers are recently installed and are the newest betas for Far Cry 2 that nvidia released yesterday.

Anybody having this issue too?...

I've bought the PC version of FC2 yesterday, and have since ran into 2 BSOD's too. Rather disappointing for what otherwise looks to be an amazing game.

My Setup:
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
C2D E6850
2GB OCZ DDR2-PC6400
GeForce 8800GT 512mb
Creative SB Audigy 4
2* 250GB Samsung HD

WinXP SP3
latest GeForce WHQL driver v178.24

First thing I'm gonna now try is remove al NV drivers with driver-cleaner to make sure all NV stuff is gone, then re-install the driver and give it another shot.

There is a new (beta) NVidia driver - 180.42, available at Guru3D.com, this driver has specific FarCry2 optimizations.

I just got the bsod. I just viewed the event viewer and it says

System Error
Symbolic Name: ER_KRNLCRASH_LOG
Message: Error code %1, parameter1 %2, parameter2 %3, parameter3 %4, parameter4 %5.

microsoft error reporting says its caused by audio software. I updated my sound card drivers before installing the game.

I updated my video card drivers to 178.24.

Interesting...Mine are all nv-related.

Damn nvidia drivers. I even went to the last WHQL drivers and I still get BSOD. Only game that does this...except Crysis.

I may have fixed my issue. I will test it more tonight after work.

I uninstalled my video card drivers AND the nvidia physx drivers and installed the latest WHQL drivers.

I think it was the PhysX drivers...will know more later today.

Today I bought the PC version of Farcry 2

I also had 2 BSOD's immediatly followed by a reboot, and in my case I know when they come...

When I try to open a medikit box, I see the BSOD :s

My pc:
CPU: E6750
GPU: 8800GT 512mb
2GB Kingston DDR2 pc5300

Any solutions yet?

(for me probably: stay away from medic boxes and die :/ )

BSOD again.

I've updated my drivers, nforce and video, used 2 different drivers, nothing helps.

I disabled SLI and it doesn't crash!

IS SLI THE PROBLEM? I insist on using both cards.

UBISOFT FIX THIS, it is a MAJOR problem!!!!!!!!!

I'm not using SLI and it's still blue screening.

Updated to the 180.42 and it's crashed again, but it went a lot longer before it crashed.

4 BSOD's in different areas so far.

I get artifacts quickly and then boom it crashes.

ATI HIS 4870x2 , 4gb Ram , AMD 6400+ , Vista 64bit, Good Asus MB (Cant remember model offhand).

This is absolute BS , and Im not the only one.
I can run Crysis , Bioshock, Warhammer , Warhead and others with absolutely NO crashes.

I was wrong, it BSOD's without SLI as well.

Ridiculous. Ubisoft is notorious for not patching games, and when they do, it's for little stupid things.

I have no hope for my problem.

today it's only BSOD when tried to use a wall mount first aid kit, the small first kits sitting that aren't mounted on walls are ok. in few hours, all 3 when i used a wall mounted kit.

BSOD's are alot more rare for me when i disable SLI.

My BSOD's happen only when joining a match online. I'm not even in the game!

I've been having the same "first aid BSOD/system crash" as a few others above have noted.
It started the first time I used it in the game, when the game asked me to use it...talk about bursting my bubble.

The good news is I know what is behind it.
The problem is the sound card, which in my case is a "Creative Audigy 2 value."

I took the card out and played needle exchange in the game for ages with no crash.

I just read somewhere else that puting the soundcards hardware acceleration all the way down, not just one notch like you hear sometimes.
Will also stop the first aid BSOD but punishes you with sound quality issues.
hmmm
I will test this out tonight....erm, Now.

Onboard sound will be tested soon.

Creative Audigy 2 here aswell. FC2 has rebooted my PC 5 times now, 3 of those times I know for sure I was using a wall mounted health kit. I'd be happy if it only crashed to desktop. =(

I logged a support ticket with UBI support 2 day ago about this still waiting for an update from them.

I turned the hardware acceleration on Creative Audigy 2 off, fixed that issue, now it just sounds a little crapy.

Nobody else is getting the NV4_DISP.DLL ERROR?

Towelieband

OK. I played the game for hours with the acceleration on zero and had not one BSOD, not even a random one.

Then I got cheeky and kicked it up a notch.....no problems either. And, the sub par sound was...better.
