View Full Version : 10 factions - a way to beat Heroes III :-)

Hi,

I would suggest a way that could make Heroes VI the best of the entire series.
Everyone expect Dungeon, Sylvan and Academy to appear in the expansion. I wish the Dwarves from the Fortress would appear as well. That make a total of 9 factions and make every race of Ashan playable (that's cool :-))
However, there's another faction that should appear - not every human town is under control of this Holy Griffin Empire. As such, not every human town should have the opportunity to summon Angels and Elrath's powers to its help.

So I suggest another human faction - renegade people, knights with lost ideals, creatures who have nowhere to go just gather and form a very loose confederation.. Something in "Asylum from Heroes IV" style, but with more human troops.

Level 1:
Thief, upgrade: Rogue
(melee fighter, no retaliation)
Level 2:
Halfling, upgrade: Elder Halfling
(shooter)
Level 3:
Dark Hag, upgrade: Striga (Albanian Witch - if we have all these Asian creatures, why not this? :-))
(caster of curses) - it would be great if dwelling of this creature on the townscreen is found somewhere outside the town walls, just in some hills, some glowing cave.. like Behemoth's Crag from Heroes III.. :-)
Level 4:
Fallen Knight, upgrade Fallen Templar
(melee fighter, double strike, each strike decreases defense of the targer)
Level 5:
Nomad, upgrade Lone Wanderer
(quick mounted unit for quick strikes)
Level 6:
Conjurer, upgrade: Enchanter
(magic wielder, direct damage spells)
Level 7:
Green Dragon, upgrade: Red Dragon
- in Heroes III, we had 4 dragons and nobody argues, so why not two factions with dragons, right? :-)

Might Hero: Guildmaster
Magic Hero: Alchymist

For now, I'm out of ideas, just a little brainstorming.. if anyone cares, we could think more of this out..
However, I don't think the Devs will read this, but perhaps.. :-)

Have a nice day guys

That sounds like a disaster.

The problem with adding faction is ballance, sure the devs can put out 10-15 faction for people to play, but in my opinion it would not make the game more enjoyable,it would just make it based on qunatity, not quality.Creating a faction is a very delicate process,it needs to have history, tradition, sinergy, unique features, and much more detail to the whole structure.
With all of that said,i'm kind of dissapointed that they took out my favorite unit out of the Haven arsenal, The Inquisitor http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif,man that guy was the badass of the Haven army. If i were to create a unit for the Haven army it would be a WitchHunter,it would be like an elite branch of Inquisitors.

^ Smells like the Disciples.
(Too bad D3 are fudged)

Factions should "make sense" and be memorable.

Your nose does not deceit you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif and yea,Disciples 3 does not feel like Disciples anymore,if feels like a wanna be Heroes of Might and Magic, although it has some features i kind of like, but they failed in too many places.

Honestly I don't know what you are talking about, having more factions is more options for people to play as, more creatures to choose from and more ways to work strategies. Seems to me that releasing so few factions only means more expansions that you are going to pay for or just being lazy. I can see how people that have limited amount of skills or don't appreciate to try out different tactics(like those who only play Chaos in heroes IV) will want to keep faction short, but those skilled players that want to expand their tactical arsenal will love to see more factions, where is order and where is Chaos?!

Have you heard of such thing as balance? More units = harder to balance the game. Unless some of them are simply repeating the others which is no fun.

Hmm, interesting.. U people don't mind Naga, who are created from the air - no sign of them in Heroes 5 and voilá - superimportant faction of H6. :-) But completely logical faction - renegade knights and human troops is "complete disaster". Not every man is knight in his shinin' armor..
And it's really silly to say - more faction, more difficult to balance. Fine, Asterisk, play chess - two sides, perfectly balanced.. and don't mess with Heroes. :-)

Hm, yeah, some wikia. But I was talking about Heroes 5 and there's really NO SIGN of them.. Maybe they play important role in Might and Magic series, but no in Heroes 5. But it doesn't matter, my point was - give us more factions.. :-)

Is it completely impossible for MMH6 to have a single expansion that will include 5 additional factions? If not what is the realistic limit on factions that can be added in an expansion?

I am not sure, but I think, that it is technically possible to have an expansion with 5 factions, but it is quite unlikely, since until now there were only expansions with 1 new faction, but since many classical factions are missing they will probaly make expansions with at least 2 factions.

I see many people arguing over the Naga and I just have to say this. I personally LOVE watching new factions, even out of seemingly nowhere. However what I URGE Ubisoft to do is NOT neglect the ones they already have! Meaning i would like to see Dwarves, Elves, Dark Elves and the Academy to Heroes VI as well.
