A rogue admiral takes control of the weapons systems onboard the submarine and fires it at the South Korean ship. While international investigations are ongoing, the US sends in an agent to the North in order to learn the truth behind the warship sinking, and discovers a bigger conspiracy.

No, North Korea has to invaded IMO. There's some pretty messed up **** going on down there and the UN has not yet found an excuse to declare it a offense to human rights even though the evidence is overwhelming. This might just be it.
They also noted the Chinese ambassador to North Korea wasn't convinced that this was intended (yeah right). China seems to have a good relationship with North Korea and once that deal is done, the spotlight will be on them next. China's not half as bad as North Korea, but it can't go on like this mistreating their people.

It's clearly Doug Shetland using Zherkezhi's algorithms.
Or maybe it's a high ranking Japanese admiral trying to instigate war within the Korea's.
Holy crap Chaos Theory had a great story. So great, in fact, that some Communist Revolutionaries saw the need to orchestrate a plan to see it all come to fruiting. But where's our Sam?

I heard about this two weeks ago when I read an article about how North Korea had emassed 50,000 of their elite soldiers on the border with S. Korea in preparations for a possible invasion and take over of the South Korean capital after S. Korea announced that they had evidence that a North Korean sub was what sunk their ship. I read about it on abovetopsecret.com about 2 weeks ago.
The story broke back on May 5th.

really not want to offence but I'll go with Redemptionx ,
sir, you need to leave the military-fiction wonderland for a second.
consider international relations or not, on one wants a war as big as this one could be at this time , and US or UN invading NK first? it's a joke right?
we will never know what kind of messing-up in going down at NK, it might not be pretty, but I sure know it's way better than peoples getting blown and send to be blown by some country at the other side of the earth.

While I love the idea behind the UN, the UN is basically completely useless regarding military operations. When was the last time the UN launched a major military campaign that didn't involve the US military leading the operation? Don't get me wrong, the French, British and a lot of other countries significantly help out, but its almost always America spearheading the operation. This also means we usually receive the majority of the political blame and consqeuences. So it'd never be the UN invading NK, rather the US invading NK with UN support, considering I fail to envision any of the other great powers leading a mlitary campaign against NK (UN support or not).

Mmy point was being that he said the UN should invade North Korea, which would never happen unless America spear headed the mobilization, as no other country (usually) takes command of major UN offensives. And since invading NK would be a disaster politically,(also logistically) the US would be taking a large amount of the criticism if anything were to go wrong.
You also say that comment "don't blame us.." but look at how many times Bush would cite the 31 countries who "helped" us invade iraq.
Edit: Don't get me wrong, I think its messed up, but if the UN/US went around invading other countries and violating other countries sovereignty because the government is ruled by a violent despot...well then, we should get ready to practically invade the entire continent of Africa.

Which is kinda dumb cause there's never been a Communist country on the face of the Earth. Ever.
Just dictators and tyrant that use the idea of Communism to enthrall their population. Very similar to how Hitler used Germany's depression after WW1 as a tool to instill his ideologies in the desperate people.
What the US defends is trade "freedom" as Capitalism. Basically, anything that gives them the right to extort every penny out of every living being on the planet.
And hey, if their economy collapses because of it, buy American.
The UN does suck, but frankly, not as much as the US.
UN for me.
Probably why Tom Clancy likes the international concept so much too.

That is why Kim Jung Ill is and has been in China asking for permission to invade the South.
If China believes that the U.S. will not interfere, they will give permission to the North to invade the South. If China believes that the U.S. will interfere, they will deny permission.
Right now, I believe that China still thinks we will back the South if the North invades. So an invasion with China backing will not happen anytime soon.
However, Kim Jung Ill is psychotic, and he is getting old to the point of not being around much longer. He wants war. He would not be building nukes if he didn't want it. He would not mass 50,000 elite troops at the border if he did not want war. He would not have allowed the sinking of a South Korean military vessel if he did not want war.
Right now South Korea's top military generals are meeting to discuss what to do now that it is official that the North sunk the South's ship. The South Korean military wants revenge, but that's just the mood among the troops.
Kim Jung Ill is set to return from China in a couple days, in which their top generals will meet to discuss what to do next.
There are 3 scenarios that will play out.
China gives permission, and the North invades.
China denies permission, and the North invades anyways.
China denies permission, and the North goes back to pouting like a bunch of babies.
The 3rd is most likely to happen, but in world politics, no one really knows what is going to happen, especially when some as wacked out as Kim Jung Ill has control of such a large military and nukes.

I didn't mentioned Iraq because it had some rationale, especially from American side, despite its illegal nature. Vietnam, on the other hand, had not, it was stupid war fought mainly for ideological purposes.
