Permanently Stuck in Clockworks and Gears - Activation Room

I activated the second tower and got back to the golem where the bridge raised. During the battle I ran to the fountain to get more health and saved. After I reloaded, the bridge was lowered again and the golem was back on the other side. I tried running through all the puzzles again through the second tower after I reload, but the golem stays stuck and the bridge won't rise again.

There's no way to continue without finishing this battle. But the trigger for the bridge doesn't work after loading a savegame.
