I have recieved in the post a rather interesting book bought from a seller in Germany within the last week and I thought I would post some varied pictures of the book and contents.
This handbook would have been carried on German naval vessels during the war and I bought it mainly for the history involved and my interest of WWII in general.
The book is spilt into sections, firstly techical data regarding the ship types of each major naval powers. There are plan drawings and pictures too. There are also recognition pictures of the naval powers flags and standards. At the back is more technical data and a few maps of the world an the known merchant convoy routes with a distance chart of the main ports in the world.
Most interesting of all is the 75 or so pages dedicated to adverts of German engineering and ship building companies, such as AEG Schiffbau, Krupp, MAN and Mercedes Benz to name but a few - there is even an advert for Becks Bier!!
