I'm trying to connect to Uplay. I booted AC2, got to the menu with Story/extra/options and hitting Y for about a minute or so, with no effect. Help?

You need to access the Uplay server from the first main menu in the game, the one where you first click start. At this point press Y and the server will load.

I do, but the only thing I get is those chains of white squeres closer to the AC2 logo, nothing happens beyond that.

In that case I would ask that you report the issue to support, as Uplay is still in beta its important we keep track of issues like this and how many people they might affect.
