View Full Version : My FC2 won't load

I installed the game and enjoyed it for a few hours, but the next day it wouldn't start. I get the splash screen saying Far Cry 2 for ten seconds and then nothing. I complained with my supplier (CDON.COM) and they sent me a new DVD but the same thing happened. I have reinstalled the game many times to no avail. UBI support haven't been able to help, a big disapointment.
My hardware: ASUS P5Q pro, Intel Core2Quad 2.83 GHz, 4 GB ram, ATI Radeon HD4850 512, Realtek HD audio.
OS is Windows Vista Home premium 64 bit SP1.
Can anyone please help with this issue, it would be much appreciated.

Take a look at this (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1821007696/m/9451057607?r=2021040847#2021040847) thread first, it might help. If not...
It could be other software you're running that's interfering with it or settings in Vista. Make sure it's not your antivirus/firewall software.
Can you remember anything that happened between the time it worked and then stopped working?
If you can trace back your steps you should be able to find what's causing it.
I'm certain that a reinstall of Vista would fix it. That should reverse whatever changes were made during that time. However that should be an absolute last resort step.

What IS this??! Alt - Enter worked once, the next time I tried to start it it's dead again. Any other suggestions?
