Why does an Elite Rank = Pathetic? [Archive]

Can someone please tell me why half the Elite ranks on this game disable grenades and shotguns and then camp the **** out of the defenders?

Aren't the Elite supposed to be...good? This is just down right sad and pathetic. I hope some of you reading this are Elite because you really need to display your Rank proudly by showign how its done - not how you took the easy way to get there. Unfortunately I think too many of these high ranks are people who have just played FOREVER and eventually got their ranks up and actually have no skill (example - I played again an Elite who had half the number of kills then he did deaths several games in a row).

They really need to fix the ranking system in the next RB6 to where you EARN a rank and not obtain it by having no life and just playing for endless hours. But these higher ranks think they run multiplayer and disable everything so they can win.

So can anyone answer - Why does an Elite Rank = Pathetic?

I totaly agree with you....I think a lot of poeple who actually have Elite ranks got thier by playing endless hour of Terroist hunt on presidio.....I played agaist a few elite players that i was better than them. I mean they had few kills and a lots of deaths. Don't get me wrong their are some Elite player that I do take my hat off for, but for the posers... I just kill them and brag on how much more kills and skills i have than them.....

Why does everyone put this emphasis on rank? It's not an indicator of your skill... Heck, I've said it before, I'm a Captain and I SUCK and I'm typically at or towards the bottom in any game.

I just play to have fun and have been lucky enough to be able to put some time in and also lucky enough to have sat in enough matches to have gotten the points needed for a promo.

Yeah...I hear ya.......I would like to have more time to play but my wife bugs me when i am on it so long....I really just like to play....I think on-line gameing is one of the top achievments of man kind. Its just fun to play against other people other and not just the Computers AI

Dubit, I hear your point. I should have emphasized how I am referring to the Elite players that brag about their rank and kills but "cheat" if you will to no end but turning everything off and camping the defense.

I understand there are players that have rank do to "just playing the game: similar to me.

yeah..a good exsample WAR_COULD..hes rank 1 on A/D and also host all the time and i'm only rank 80 but i pwn him easy...so rank doesnt mean nothing really..i go afk alot becuzz of the team stacking so there no point in playing for another 10min and i'm still rank 80? they need a better rankin system

And i guess it takes a lot of skills to camp inside the Keno room with those items taken off? Come on man, get over yourself. Too many pu$$ies on this game - why are people so afraid to lose? I don't think they should be able to turn anything off - there isn't any point other then getting an advantage.

"It takes no skills". Umm I think your wrong - Im impressed with anyone that can get more kills then deaths with the XM considering you get smoked in area like the roof with an XM.

Rank is just there for people who play enough to be able to get the unlockables. People pay $60 for a game, and want the opportunity to have all of the customizing options regardless of skill. If it was any other way, not as many people would buy or play the game. We will never see a different ranking system.

I have played with a bunch of elites and colonels, and have not ever been restricted with anything. Our clan played with one last night and he was awesome, and a good sport. Not like many of the others I have played with in public rooms, that either gloated when they won, or quit when they lost.

I just reached my elite- I have never met an elite who brags personally. I have seen videos of elites running around acting like rambo.

I think its hilarious that people get so bent out of shape because someone brags about thier rank or playing skill. WHO THE F CARES- ITS A GAME- if you getting bent out of shape because a few scumbags are boasting about thier rank, you need to turn the game off and take some time. Read a book or something-

Also, if you dont like the room with no nades or whatever you dont like, leave- always ALWAYS look at the match settings before you stay to play. Now- go have fun

Why would you want to use a auto-shotty?

Allright.

I play with a guy who is ranked in the top four in assasination.

He disables grenades and alot of things for a few rounds, then enables them without you knowing.

Now, i've learned how to avoid and minimize damage by frags and spot c4 this way.

However, just playing with restrictions up the wazoo isn't fun.

1) Some things are banned on games as it makes the game for people on lower ranks just too easy for example the shield is nooby as it is inpenetratable and therefore unrealistic so its banned, especially when noobs like to invade the casino vault with them to get the package.

2) Spawn camping is not bad as you defenders have 2 (Yes, 2) spawn points and you always insist on spawning Keno to try to battle your way out when you know you fail. Also you will have to face the attackers sometime, so it would either be in keno after spawn or somewhere else. Spawn camping is also fun.

BTW it is not easy for attackers to get back the roof when the defenders have captured it as there is only one way up.

BTW the rank system should depend on your kill to death ratio as that's where the skill comes in. Many elites only become elite for doing coop terror hunt on presidio its boring, brainwashing and easy as the terrorists are easy to kill, in comparison the normal multiplayer modes are harder, ie you need more bullets to kill someone and all elites are usually arrogant and feel invincible.

Never need more bullets, I or someone else will make a kill and take your weapon and kill you with it. That is not arrogant that is just the fact. Invincible?? How so, just because I am an Elite, I dont feel as if I can walk through walls or float in the air. My kill to death ratio is 3-1 and average 19-25 kills per match. Again, not arrogant, the facts are there. But what I find most bothersome is everyone who rips those who put in the time to play the game, including single player- both modes; completed T/H in single mode, has numerous games played as well as the hours. Is it my fault that you have to work or take care of your personal issues? I have and make the time to play the game. What map or mode I choose is MY decision. Playing Persido for hours on end is NOT A GLITCH or a GLITCH RANK UP. Everyone can do it and for the record, there are 6 other maps that you can play in a certian way to get a persido effect of killing the Terr easier. Might take a few minutes longer but its still fun. I would bet UBI earnings that if you had an additional 2 hours a day for 2 weeks you would be playing T/H looking for the rank of ELITE.
Sure making ELITE was a game goal, but so is completing every map in every mode, playing all T/H maps.

Actually why the hell am I wasting my time with this reply. Arguing about a friggin game and how long someone plays it- LOL

You could always make a new account or reset your RANK, if you don't wanna deal with people who boot high ranked players.

I have a secondary account, that I plan on promoting to Elite purely on adversarial modes. Unlike the other, that hit Elite with the help of co-op, and grinding to level for hours on end.

It's fun looking like a mercenary or just an average joe Response Team guy. (SWAT, HRT, ERT etc.)

ive had this game since the first of august..

ive never cheated or giltched..

i managed to get up to like master sargeant or w.e the hell it is..

i still manage to kill a few elites.. but most of the time, there are elites that own everyone..
not by cheating or glitching.. but because theyre good!

but i do think that there should be a rank system that depends on kill to death ratio.. so good players get good ranks.. and cheaters dont.

that sucks- and for the record my friend lost his stats a few months ago. Ok, he starts out again and gets it back to Col.

On monday, we were playing TH when he wanted to switch his explosives. He hit one button, kicked him from the game, kicked him off line. when he signed in, HE LOST IT ALL AGAIN!!

True this has nothing to do with Elite, although he would be an Elite right now, but I feel you with your PS 3.

And its good that you are taking your time. I didnt find out about Persido until I was a Maj Col. I did however do alot of those to help others get back some of the rank they lost due to circumstances that were beyond thier control.

Look ppl dont get me wrong her ight i just recently became a captain 2 days or so and i already got 4 bars and i love grenades and stuff but im starting to hate them cuz thats the only way people can kill me belive me when your and elite or anyother high rank ur going to also start hating it belive me i cant stand g nades ne more

well im elite and have been for ages, i certainly dont suck and i have never once played terrorist hunt and have played over 430 hours on team sharpshooter mainly becuase i am unable to work due to medical reasons so i have lots of spare time,

anyway, im my games i lock:

xm26lss...... not cos i die with it, quite the opposite actually, i get my highest scores using it but i dont think its fair on the enemy who are usually lower ranks or of lower skill, if anyone requests that i unlock it i do, they usually dont mind me locking it again afterwards

incendiary...... becuase everyone always picks them and frags, its predictable and rather boring, with these restricted people are forced to use something else, so we might get frag/smoke, frag/tear gas, frag/radar jammer etc, you never know what the enemy might use,

gps....basically cos its not very realistic, in real wars you dont get to know if enemies are hiding in the next room, suprises are challenging and fun

There are a few reasons u get spawn camped 1)your team won't communicate 2)you and/or the team your on is not very good 3)the other team is a clan or usally play together and have their plan of attack 4)your team is lagging 5)and i have seen this happen a lot. when your teammate's spawn they crouch and hide instead of running down and attacking the other player before your invincibility times out. as far as explosives i'll play with or without i here people all the time wanting to ban whatever weapon they get killed with.

What i do is wait till someone spawns camp and then kill them tell your team they r spawn camping and then your team will be more aware

In some game modes, it is good to disable nades as you can show your skillat shooting and not at just throwing a grenade into your spawn.

HI,in my case a restrict explosives because you don't need skills to use one.
If you get spawn camp is because you want it that way.Remember u have aprox. 5 to 6 seconds spawn protection to get you out of your spawn point with no problem.In my room if i put explosives people will quit faster.And it's true,elite rank doesn't mean anything.

O.k I've played with the shotguns and grenades off....In some ways i actually prefer it. As it then becomes about your talent with your controller (Or Gun...For those who believe they are in a real war) and to osme degree your hand eye co-ordination. So im not to bothered about it. It's just another challenge of your own skills. However what does annoy the total #@#?!!!! out off me. Is the clans that turn off grenades and anything explosive. Then arm themselves with a shield and Raging Bull or Desert Eagle. trying to run around the back off them like headless chickens becomes somewhat boring. I generally leave those rooms. Some may say good clan play. but when your playing against just a bunch off random people and not another clan there isnt much in the way on cummunication. Come on guys it's stooooooopid.

As for the whole Rank thing. I always delete my rankings after a while and bust myself down to private. As all the weapons i use are default. MP9 with Rifle scope...You may thing wtf Rifle scope with SMG. But for those who havnt tried it. Except no substitute. It kills all up close and from distance. Providing that is you don't play the game sitting on your *** hiding in a corner. Keep moving with that combo. You will become Elite in no time!

As others have said not playing RB6 until the patch has come out....Currently doing COD4. However COD4 is now getting boring and tempted to play RB6 again. Despite i've probably lost my skills now lol

I totally agree with luiggy77,

but i have a question, whats with incendiary grenades. Once you see one it's impossible to run from and basically always die, i think their cheap. Also regardless of whats been disabled I almost always only play with a hand gun, not even a dessert eagle or raging bull, even though their sick. Anyways if you don't like the hosts playing style just leave.

Your right, getting Elite can be achieved by simply playing hours on end, but thats the same with every game...

I think some of you are looking at it the wrong way, you say Elite's should be skillfull, well, by disabling grenades and the automatic shotgun (on vegas 1...) then your minimising the amount of lucky noobs kills. An elite bans them because they are fed up of people hiding and just throwing grenades!! That takes NO skill at all, if you kill someone with a machine gun in a 1v1 fight, thats more skillfull. You look at it the wrong way...

Im an elite as well. In fact I got bored and deleted my rank, just to make it back to elite again.

I was in a room once, and a few guys where elite bashing. Stereotyping every elite as a bragging no skill idiot. I asked them why they where judging me when they didnt even know me. Afer a few rounds with me, they totally changed their opinions of me. They told me I wasnt like any other elite they have ever played. I dont waste my time bragging, because it just makes me look stupid when someone puts a bullet between my eyes. I do personally think Im a pretty good player, but I do not claim to be a god of any sort. I die when you shoot me in the head like any other person.. elite or not.

Most of the people I play with are elites. To be honest, I dont know many non-elite players. Ive been in fourteen player games with the lowest rank being a colenel. It made for some intense competition. They were all good sports, and none of them wasted their time bragging.

I know there are elites that glitched up there, but I dont think you should judge us all based on upon a few guys who give us a bad name. Please judge a person for who they are, and not the rank they hold.

As for the Xm, I dont care if you uses that. It is one of the worst guns in the game. It has no range, terrible accuracy, low damage, and you need to reload after about a second of firing. If you cannot find a room with unbanned, then by all means, create your own.

I personally dont have much of a problem with frags. I use them on occasion, but much prefer flashbangs or motions sensors. I just dont like when people treat the frag as if it were a primary weapon. All I ask is that you please attempt to kill your opponent with the right trigger before you hit the B button. Other than that, frags are a good thing. If there is a area where I know people are going to go, like say the "suicide room" in casino vault, Im going to throw a frag there. If I run around a corner and there are three guys shooting at me, Im going to through a frag. Its common sense.
