While I do so much love a challange, I also enjoy a bit of historic accuracy, i.e. I really dont like the odds stacked against me.

For Example
Please note:
Submerged Endurance by class:
Salmon/Sargo: 36 hours, 3 knots,
Tambor/Gar: 48 hours, at 3 knots. NOT 4 HOURS!
GATO: 48 hours, 3 knots, 100NM
Balao: 48 hours, 3 knots, 100nm

I am sure that others have the necessary information concerning the other classes, but this is just an example.

I mean when a patrol objective involves penetrating a harbor that is going to take 24 hours to get in and out of, and your battaries start going bad after 4 hours, you are KINDA SCREWED.

"Captain, the battaries are flat sir!"
"Surface the boat!"
"In the middle of Tokyo Harbor, sir?"
"Radio, send the following to comsubpac, 'batteries dead, in the immortal words of the gladiators, "we who are about to die, salute you!"'

This conversation is immediately followed by every shore defense gun that can be brought to bear on the poor suckers opens fire.

While I agree with you, I must say that sneaking up to the Tokyo docks with only a 4 hour battery life, figuring out when to surface and when to submerge was probably the most exciting time I've had yet.

Bud, there's a mod at subsim to fix this, but yea should have been correct in the first place.

Aren't the test/crush depths all wrong too?
