a few of us were talking in irc, and...we're all really excited about MK9.

the platform we're all planning to pick it up on is the 360.

there's nothing cooler in fighting games than playing with your friends and the MK release date is rapidly approaching.

would anyone be down for a Mortal Kombat night that week?

the official release date is April 19th. that's soon. and they have a 360 exclusive character that hasn't been announced yet. (ps3 has Kratos. the lucky bastards...)

I'm pretty excited about this game after playing it at the last two PAX conventions. I'm definitely getting it at launch so I'll be down to play it that week.

I was leaning towards the PS3 version of the game because of Kratos, but more and more it seems most folks I know are going for the 360 version.

I'm super excited about this too! I played the demo on PS3 (which is the version I'm getting for KRATOS!!) and it was SICK!

If I can get a decent trade in value for my old Rock Band stuff, I'd totally be down for buying this and getting some play time in.

I'm pretty sure there's no 360-exclusive character. Unless it's going to come out as DLC.

I love this game so, so much though there seem to be major connection issues effecting netplay. Ukyo and I were unable to find each other's games yesterday http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif.

Also, it takes forever to connect to ranked and player matches so you are better off joining player created rooms, which is probably what we will have to do when we do this Kombat Night.

The story mode is the best I've seen in a fighting game in awhile and the fatalities are as brutal and gory as they should be. How's everyone else enjoying MK so far?
