View Full Version : How do you know which weapons are currently equipped?

Okay I'm on my second run through the game and I'm only now starting to really get into all the weapon types. During my first run through, I wasted a lot of time in the armory, swapping out weapons and then going outside, firing them, checking recoil, ammo capacity, stuff like that. I found one thing that was really frustrating was there doesn't appear to be any method of quickly identifying which weapons you have currently equipped. Instead, you have to diligently compare the icons displayed in the armory with the pics of the weapons in the Upgrades section of the menu. I found this to be really slow and encumbersome. Is there no easy way to quickly identify which weapons you currently have equipped? I found that the 'Favorite primary/secondary/etc weapon' statistic in the Statistics section to be relatively useless. That should be swapped out with 'Current primary/secondary/etc weapon'.

There is no way of telling which weapon you are holding. This is indeed not nice. I also found it a bit annoying they didn't put nametags near the weapons in the armory. That wouldn't have been too much trouble: each weapon has its own slot there.
I also had to compare the weapons with the silhouettes in the Upgrades just to see what was hanging on the wall... I did find out that the wall on the left holds the primary weapons, the wall on the right the special ones and the wall where the door is in holds the secondary weapons. But still it's hard to figure out what is what when you're no expert.
And when you are buying weapons on the computer you have to know what you want to get, because you can't check the Upgrades while you are on the computer. And the computer itself offers no help at ALL, which is quite weird...
All in all it seems they had weaponexperts in mind when they made this all up. Although the way they split things up isn't very logical either, even for weaponexperts: the M79 or IED as secondary.... the dart rifle as special...? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I agree with IED and M79 should have been special weapon, but the Dart rifle certainly is a special weapon.

And I have to agree with you too, but... in FC2 the Dart Rifle is simply a very deadly sniper rifle... In real life this IS apparently a special weapon, but not in FC2 imho.

Yeah exactly. I'm no gun nut either. Seeing as how the array of weapons is a major feature of the game, it would have been great to allow for some detailed and close comparison for non-NRA members.

Either that or -and I'm not into bashing Ubisoft, I think FC2 is a great game- they made it like that to induce more people to buy the strategy guide. Speaking of which, there's no way I'm buying the digital version of the strategy guide. If they come out with a hard copy version of the guide I might buy it though.

I just posted an Armory guide (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1521068375/m/9611040807) which shows you which weapons are hanging where in the Armory!
