Hi. so this is my story. the heart of the world is the core as i did this for an english project in yr 8. please tell me your honest feelings about it!!!
A new day dawns, an old sun rises. All is peaceful in The Glades of Dreams. Rayman the Raygold, and Globox the Glute, are playing together chasing each other, like the day will never end, when suddenly Rayman and Globox receive a telepathic message from Ly, the fairy. “Rayman and Globox, I have a message from Uglette. There is a picnic to be held at the edge of The Great Forest of Light. Come on! Hurry up! We’re all waiting for you! I’ll meet you there! Don’t forget we need to teach the baby Glutes about the secrets of the world tomorrow! Goodbye!” Rayman and Globox, still recovering from the telepathic nausea, packed lots of yummy goodies and strolled off, to The Great, Forest of Light.
Meanwhile, a robot, in a luminous orange pod is heading towards a giant, metal pirate ship. He fears his fate by the Captain, and hurriedly keeps looking at his map. As he is worrying himself to death, a sudden blip appears on his holographic map. Funny, the robot thought to himself, that wasn’t there a while ago. His iron heart beat fast. Could it be, he wondered, could it be that the Glades of Dreams, was in fact …inhabited? Well, the Captain would be pleased with that for sure. So, the robot, delightfully pleased with this sudden, twist of fate, opened the door and stepped inside……………………..
“The sun is bright in the Glades of Dreams,
We never fear because we have him.
Yes, it’s Rayman, the one so bright and gold,
Who’s brave, strong, kind and bold!!”
Next there’s Ly the beautiful fairy,
Her voice just like a whisper.
She has purple and gold stripes all over,
When we need her she’s always near!!”
Globox is a blue Glute…..
And so it went on, hour after hour. After a morning, noon and night of laughter, the people of the island scurried back home with a smile on each and every one of their faces. Rayman and Globox were the happiest of all. They approached their houses yawning. It had been another magical day in The Glades of Dreams.
“C-c-captain, sir, A-a-admiral, sir, we’ve found the legendary Glade of Dreams, and also……. Rayman!” A pause of silence swept around the room. Finally, the answer came, “Well done, Henchmen vi.009…turn round! Let’s see…..erm…. vi.00954.” came a steely voice at the back of the room. Who did the voice belong to? Well, that voice of punishment and hatred would be recognized very accurately by the prisoners on the ship. The voice belonged to no other than the fearful Admiral Razorbeard. The destroyer of planets. Reducing them to cosmic space dust, to sell and become rich. This man, (or robo-pirate should I say) had achieved 99% of his goal. The next step was to destroy his son’s world. Yes, you read correctly, his SON’S world!!! Just have a guess who his son is………. Anyway let me tell you how it happened………
After the island was created, Razorbeard came along with his wife Reeyma. (He was a good guy back then!!). Reeyma was from the planet Harmonia, where the species of Raygolds originated (i.e. Rayman.) They all lived happily until Razorbeard’s father, Razoreye took over the planet. When Reeyma was captured, she fell in love with Razorbeard. This unusual effect made Razorbeard half good- half evil. When Reeyma went on her honeymoon, she came to The Glades of Dreams. The inhabitants were very friendly and accepted her and Razorbeard. She then gave birth to Rayman.
At this time, Razoreye had found out about his son’s secret marriage. You see, he had put up cameras in every rook on the ship, including the entrances and exits. He had seen Razorbeard and Reeyma run away. Well, Razoreye thought, that Raygold will certainly have something to cry about!!
Reeyma and Razorbeard had settled down in The Glades of Dreams quite well and were very happy together. Razorbeard had turned good now and even he had started to open his eyes up to the good things in life. But that wasn’t going to last, not if Razoreye could help it. Silent and secret, Razoreye wasn’t going to let his only son become good. So, he thought of an evil plan, one that would change
Razorbeard’s life forever.
Reeyma had just woken up to the shining sun, which never failed to brighten her morning up. Tired and hungry, she wearily dragged herself downstairs; to comfort the crying Raygold .Her and her husband had been woken several times during the night to try to make the 5 year old fall of to sleep. Nevertheless, Reeyma and Razorbeard had had not even a few minutes sleep. But even then, Reeyma thought, she wouldn’t swap Rayman for anything else in the world. She smiled as she prepared breakfast.
Somewhere else in the galaxy, a satisfied Admiral Razoreye had left in his orange pod, towards a new, changed son……..
“Reeyma, there’s some one at the door, can you answer it please?” asked the tired Razorbeard, just wanting to go back to sleep. Downstairs, Reeyma opened the door. Standing there was a poor old man hungry. His voice sounded very familiar, Reeyma thought, but she let him in. “I am so sorry on disturbing you but I wanted to know if you had anything for me to eat?” croaked the old man in a strange metallic voice. “Of course, I’ll go and get some toast for you.” replied Reeyma warmly. Shortly after, Reeyma gave the man the toast and some milk. He thanked her and went. Reeyma noticed something on the table. It was a small leather pouch. By it, there was a note, which said:
“Thank you, I hope you find this useful.”
Well, Reeyma thought, strange. I’ll show Razorbeard, and see what he says. And she rushed upstairs to show him. If only she had stopped to listen, listen to the old man cackle as she ran up.
“This looks like some sort of marble piece,” said Razorbeard, just as puzzled as Reeyma was. “Hang on a second, I’ve remembered something. I have an ornament under the bed. It belonged to my father. He gave it to me when I was little. There is a small hole on the outside of it, about the same size as this marble. I wonder if it is the missing piece!” exclaimed Razorbeard, as he hurriedly checked under the bed. Sure enough, the ornament was there, with the missing fragment. Razorbeard and Reeyma nervously put it in, not knowing what was gong to happen. At first, nothing happened. But then, all of a sudden, a blinding light enveloped the pair were sucked into the ornament. It then hovered over the bed and flew out the window, leaving a bemused Raygold with a note. Now it is a well known fact that Raygolds can talk fluently when they are about 4, and can understand writing. Rayman grabbed the note and ran to The Forest of Light, to Ly the fairy.
Ly, was a great friend of Reeyma and Razorbeard, and had helped them to settle down, so Rayman knew who to go to. “What’s the matter Rayman,” asked Ly softly. “Mom and Dad have disappeared in to this ornament, and they left a note .Look”:
“Thanks again, thanks for returning my son to evil. Oh and Reeyma, don’t worry, you can still see him…..whilst you are a PRISONER!!!”
Ly gasped as she read the note. She knew in an instance what had happened. Razoreye must have spirited them off and kept Reeyma a prisoner, while Razorbeard was to be the next Admiral to carry on the family business. Ly thought about Rayman. He was an orphan!! Ly stared at him. As if Rayman had understood, he asked Ly if he could stay with him. Ly said yes, and invited him in……
Admiral Razorbeard to this present day had sworn to serve his father and try to fulfill his ultimate goal: to destroy every planet and breed more robe-pirates to conquer the galaxy!!
The next morning, Rayman awoke, and went downstairs. He got his breakfast ready. He had a hose of his own, but was not married yet. He put on his clothes and brushed his teeth. As he was walking towards the door, something caught his attention.
In the corner of his eye, he could see…….. three robo-pirates, guarding it! Rayman ran in to the living room, shut the door and panted heavily. Who or what were those machines? He couldn’t escape through the back, as it was also guarded by the metal creatures. Then Rayman remembered. Of course, the tunnel! Ly had told him that whenever a calamity arises, to use the tunnel to reach her house. Without further ado, he lifted the picture of his mother and father up and repeated the magic words: “Harmony and Light, Light and Harmony.” The brick wall which stood there opened up, to show a gaping hole in it. Rayman entered, as the door closed behind him.
Halfway through the tunnel, Ly sent a message. (Only the Fairies could send telepathic messages, not the inhabitants, although they could reply whilst they were being told a telepathic message. “Rayman,” she said, wearily, “The pirates have broken the Core into 5 pieces scattered throughout the island. It has made me weak and drain my relaxation energy. Globox and Uglette have found the first two pieces. They’ve also kidnapped Gem, Tina and Reen. I will send you a Silver Lum so you can shoot with your fist. Come to my house through the secret tunnel. Globox and Uglette will be waiting there for you; I’ll explain when you arrive. Hurry!!” As the energy entered Rayman’s body, Rayman ran down the tunnel, towards his mother and friends……..
“Ahem, s-s-s-irr, we have guarded-d every d-door, on the p-planet, sir Admiral, sir,” stuttered a nervous pirate, wobbling like a jellyfish, shivering in his shoes. “Excellent, we’ll have that Rayman and his friends in chains in no time!! Har, har!! Father would be so proud of me,” smiled Razorbeard evilly. Suddenly, an alarm went of and the room turned red. Razorbeard turned round to wards his main screen, WARNING, THREE INHABITANTS HAVE ESCAPED! REPEAT, THREE INHABITANTS ESCAPED!! Razorbeard couldn’t believe his eyes. “WHAT!!” he yelled, as the nervous pirate tiptoeing out of the door, suddenly ran. Razorbeard spoke into the microphone, “1st unit to The Glade of Fairies, I repeat, 1st unit to The Glade of Fairies. And with that, 6 pirates scuttled out and headed towards their destination...
“Well, Rayman dosen’t know about Re……” But Ly’s sentence was interrupted by the sudden noise behind the picture of Rayman. Ly opened it, and Rayman clambered out, all dusty. “Who don’t I know about?” enquired Rayman. Ly looked at Globox and Uglette and widened her eyes. “We’ll have to tall him sooner or later… so why not now?” said Globox. After much hesitation, Ly agreed. “Listen Rayman, come and sit by me. I am going to tell you something that you must not tell anyone else, Ok?” spoke Ly, firmly. Rayman nodded.” Well, this is what happened…” And Ly told Rayman about his real mother and father. Rayman’s eyes widened. This was the truth? And Razorbeard was….his father!! Rayman listened curiously until Ly finished speaking... “I understand.” Rayman said, as he beckoned towards Uglette and Globox towards another secret tunnel towards The Glade of Fairies…
“What do you mean what are you supposed to do? Bring them back… Dead or Alive!! The Admiral let out a mighty laugh and got back to work. “Reeyma, darling, GET HERE NOW!!” commanded Razorbeard as Reeyma rushed to obey his order. Well, she was his prisoner after all…so what could she do?
Soon, the trio had reached The Glade of Fairies. It was eerily quiet, for the pirates had captured the other fairies. Just then, Globox spun round, towards Rayman, “Shh, I think I heard a noise.” But before they had time to do anything, they were surrounded by 5 robr-pirates!! Globox and Uglette created rain clouds and rusted 4 of them. The last one was more advanced than the others and he could withstand rust. When Rayman saw his friends weak, he couldn’t bear it if they were going to be attacked. So he leapt into action. He concentrated the energy of the ball in his palm towards the robot. THWACK!! The robot was so bewildered that Rayman had time to finish him off. He exploded and vanished into a hunk of metal. “I don’t think we‘ve seen the last of them,” whispered Uglette. Just then, Rayman saw something glittery and gold. “Look, it’s the 3rd Corepiece. I wonder how I send it back.” Rayman thought. As if the Corepiece had heard, it flew of to join the rest of the Core.
“Well, I think we had better leave before anything else happens,” said Uglette, anxiously.
So felling pleased about there achievement, the three journeyed on. But if only they’d have looked back, they would have seen, a hidden robo-pirate leaping out of the blackberry bushes to report to Admiral Razorbeard….
“Ahem, s-s-irr, two fat beings, one blue and one pink spotted s-sir, and b-big n-nosed one s-sir v-v-very p-p-powerful s-sir.” spoke the pirate, the one hiding in the bushes earlier on. Razorbeard turned round quickly. “A big nosed one you say?” said Razorbeard, smiling. I think we’ll take special care of him, thought Razorbeard evilly, as he rubbed his hands together in glee. Unknown to him, Rayman already knew about his existence……
Glute Palce.A breathtaking structure, with the colors of glittery blue and silver. A sight to cure sore eyes. The inside was even more dazzling. A glistening glass floor, gleaming brightly. The hand carved walls, telling the history of the remarkable island. And of course, the wooden oak table, right in the middle, the chair of the famous Golden Glute. Except it wasn’t bare. On top of it was a metal cage, with a shimmer of gold to be seen inside. “Look, it’ the 4th Corepiece,” said Uglette, pointing her pink, spotted finger towards it. Rayman tried to break it with his energy spheres, but had no luck. Even when he combined it together with Uglette and Globox’s rain cloud power, it wouldn’t open. Just then, Rayman saw a robot approaching. “Quick, hide!” he beckoned to the two Glutes towards the door. As the robot entered, they hid behind the door. “Has he gone yet?” whispered a terrified Uglette. Big mistake.
The pirate turned round to see the three figures. He was a very advanced model, which could withstand the rain clouds, but, fortunately, not energy sphere. Then Rayman had a brainwave. What if I make the robot shoot in the direction of the Corepiece, he thought. And if that doesn’t work, he could dislocate the robots arm and combine it’s firepower with Rayman’s energy balls. The rain clouds had not had an effect on the metal cage whatsoever, but Rayman’s energy balls had managed to dent it a little bit. Rayman’s first idea wasn’t successful so, bravely, he crept up behind the robot and shot an energy ball just above his shoulder. As soon as it had been dislocated, the robot fell to the ground in a pile of nuts and bolts. Rayman pocked up the metal arm and put an energy sphere inside. Nervously, he pulled the trigger. WHAM!! The force was enough to knock the three back, but not enough to harm them. Thankfully, the cage had opened releasing the Corepiece, and letting it fly back to the Core. “2 down, 1 more to go,” said Globox, happily. They left the palace as they headed for there final destination, Pirate Highlands…
“Let’s pretend we didn’t notice that,” joked Globox, trying to brighten the situation. Just then, Ly was sending a telepathic message. “Rayman, Globox, Uglette, I have produced enough energy to create another Silver Lum. This is for Globox and Uglette only. It is the power of lightning. You only have one between you each. Use it wisely. Take care.” And with that, the vision of Ly disappeared, leaving the three to journey on….
“HOW COULD YOU FAIL TO KILL THEM!!” roared Razorbeard, as he flung a china vase towards the head of a trembling robr- pirate, narrowly missing by a centimeter. “ Call in the super, super, super, super, super, super, super, super advanced pirates. TODAY would be nice.” The henchman scuttled away as quickly as he could to carry out his master’s order….
A chilly wind blew and the sky cast a dark shadow, lingering above the triumphant three in the lonely, desolate place. It had been 4 hours of walking through the cold, and they were struggling. In the distance, they could make out the silhouette of a robot, coming towards them. The trio ran and started to battle, but this time, not even a scratch was made. It pinched Rayman and was walking along towards the pirate ship in the distance. Then Globox had a brainwave.
Could it be that the robot were made out of Shintin? At Ly’s house, hey had learnt that Shintin was a mixture of silver and metal, and it was the strongest metal ever. But only one thing could destroy it……lightning!! Quick as a flash, Globox whispered to Uglette and Rayman as Globox struck the robot with lightning. It collapsed setting Rayman free. But then, a backup robot in an orange pod grabbed Rayman with his claw and flew towards the pirate ship. “Go without me, go!!” shouted Rayman as he flew off to the horizon. The pair of Glutes hurried after Rayman. Uglette stopped Globox. “We need to think carefully. There must be another way to reach him.” Just then, another orange pod came towards. With the last bolt of lightning she had, Uglette speared the pod, sending a confused pirate sprawling away from Pirate Highlands. Uglette and Globox went in, as the roof of the pod closed, and they set of at full speed towards the big, metal pirate ship….
“Ha, ha, you’ll be my most obedient slave yet. In fact, I’ll promote you. You can oil and massage my feet every half an hour. That’ll teach you to be a goody-goody!!” Rayman sighed, wishing for Uglette and Globox to burst through that door any moment now and save him. But the room remained silent, and Rayman went back to work….
“Well, the sign says Prisoners, so let’s go that way,” suggested Globox. Uglette nodded in agreement. Finally, they arrived. Ly was so happy to see them. She hugged them, but then noticed someone was missing. “Where’s Rayman?” she asked. “We thought he’d be here,” said Globox and Uglette, shocked. Quickly, they created rain clouds and set the prisoners free. The other three Fairies helped the other prisoners to float down to the island. All except Ly and Reeyma that was. They had been talking to each other whilst they were prisoners. Reeyma had said that the last Corepiece was in Razorbeard’s office, probably where Rayman was now. She had set the Corepiece free herself. “Well, what are we waiting for, let’s go!” said Ly, and the four ran towards the office.
Silence surrounded the room. Every now and then, Rayman would check to se if he was going to be rescued. He turned around, expecting the same old silence, but instead there was a …CRASH!! The door smashed on the red carpet. In the smoke was……Ly, Globox, Uglette and…..Reeyma.
All his memories were flooding back to him. Razorbeard laughed evilly. “You can’t stop me!! My robots will soon capture your little friends and put them behind Shintin bars!!” “That’s what you thing but no.” shouted Reeyma. She had been searching through his drawers and had found… the ornament. Razorbeard smile dropped. “No, I will not be good noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!” Every one in the room was transported to the island, The Glade of Dreams. Razorbeard, who was now good again, said,” I had the strangest dream. It was all these pirates an……” everyone laughed as they all journeyed home happily. All except for Ly.
Reeyma saw Ly’s sad face and said, “Come and live with us, we haave plenty of room. You can look after Rayman while we go out. You can develop your house in to a proper school, but still keep the furniture. We’ll help you to advertise aswell!” Ly was speechless. Happily she accepted the warm offer. Globox, Uglette and Rayman thought, just like old times, mate,
Just like old times.
