View Full Version : Body and Dropped Item Decay Setting?

Is it possible to put in a timer setting so that I could, say, set it to 30 sec. so that after a dead body is on the ground for 30 sec. it will get deleted from the game? Any inventory item (cap/ammo/gun) would be removed after laying on the ground for 30 sec?
It seems to me this would greatly reduce lag and allow our games to run much faster due to the less amount of processing that would need to be done. Currently I'm running around the map amongst 500 or more bodies and guns and stuff. Seems like overkill. I wouldn't mind having it decay or go away after time. I know this isn't realistic, but I would much rather have a faster /smoother running game/net play.

I agreem, perhaps a similar thing with vehicles too as all these models reduce the framerates loads.

I disagree, it's too funny to loot dead bodies and searching for lost guns of ground! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

In multiplayer setting script if I remember well there is already a items limit, not by time but by number of entities, maybe 12 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I think the blown up vehicles already do this.

hmm I like to see the carnage, but then the lag I get in SP is unbelievable considering I have a dual 4400+ and 2 gigs of RAM.

Bodies should vaporize with lasers

bodies in SHOWW2/FOW never dissapear, guns never dissapear, blowned tanks never dissapear. and nothing of THAT has NOTHING to do with LAG and memory leak.

Are you kidding me!? Why does a game get laggier and laggier the more you play? For each object in the game the computer has to think about & process it. Having all these objects out there lags the computer, lags the server, and lags MP coop!

What do you think causes lag?

SP have 3% chance on FPS drop for less then a minute - MP lags but patch will fix it - dont disinform people about lag - as it's just your PC that lags - and you scaring potentual nubs that will play away .http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We noticed that devs are working about the MP lag, and we are happy for this.
But, what can you tell us about the SP lag? Will it be fixed by the incoming patch too?
I asked this to you because it seems you have good info resources about the game development.
I hope you can help tomake a bit of clarity about this point.
Thanks in advance.

Perhaps the correct word isnt "lag" maybe "slowdown" can describe whats happening more clearly due to all the objects mounting up, as the game is nice and smooth at the beggining but as more of the fog of war is lifted and more objects appear even the fastest of pc's can't seem to cope. But as I hear they are fixing it so we shouldn't need to worry! Or should we?

Thats pretty damn obvious that BestWay wont let it's gem just get lost in the dirt like that... We got nothing to worry about - Mp lag will be fixed in incoming patch, more to that, Skael mentioned today that they working hard on tank damage system... so i can guess they throw in updated armor damage system in that same first update - Not a word on Single Player FPS drop, that looks like memory leak, yet. But i ask first thing in the morning. Btw devs will be going on public soon, when they wont be so easy , so stay put for some official news...

My spec is

4400 + Dual Core
2 Gig RAM
X900XT 256MB RAM

I can play SP fine, but on missions where alot of enemies spawn and there is a lot of movement, my system slows to about 10-15fps.

If anything Id like more things to stay especially rubble from buildings when they get blown up.

Look, I know for a fact all this stuff has to slow the game down some as it starts to build up like it does. My proof is this: that even BestWay made it so that the dead tanks disappear after a while. I'm just saying please make an option so that we can set a timer to when dead bodies/dropped items should disappear. So those that like it, can keep it, etc. Of course on MP games it would depend on server setting.

All do this after around 5 minutes or so. It gets very annoying because the looting is one of the best parts in this game and they ridiculously hamper it.
