76.44 and it works fine - with 6800GT, that is.

It maybe possible, that you gfx-card can't handle it? XT for ATI means one level up, XT with nVidia means, GFX-chip is one generation back. Dunno for sure though, if it's a hardware problem.

I'm using a 6800GT with 76.44 and when I switch on AA the Sun changes to a little white disk in the sky. I've tried other drivers with no luck..

yeah - no sun bloom/glare/whatever effect on my 6800 GT when I'm running AA - using shift+pageup once gives me the bloom/glare but either turns off or turns down the AA apparently, given the increased level of jaggies I see when I do that

this is with the 71.84 drivers I'm using now, but was true with the ones I was using just before this as well - haven't worked up the nerve to try the latest beta drivers I D/L'ed the other night, but I've seen posts I think saying they don't fix this or the UZO particle bug so I figured I might as well wait for the next real ones

Would not count on Nvidia fixing this problem. SHIII is not a big enough game for them to sweat over.

I have a 6800 GT with the latest official driver. I have 16* AA and 4* anisotrophic.
My sun is also like a "white disc".
If I do "shift+pgup" one time, I get a nice sunglare, but if I go down to the Sonar/Radio room the graphic is f***ed up.
Doesnâ´t happen if I go for full "shift+pgdown"!
