In latest concept art screenshot, at Ghostrecon.net, a jungle-type map has been shown. That's encouraging.

In a thread in his forum, somebody had posted an overhead map of Mexico City. It seemed that there were some wooded areas and hills near the outskirts. So, I hope, even if the whole game takes place in Mexico City, we can have some rural type maps. It is quite apparent that everybody would like a good blend of urban and rural maps.

No doubt, a good balance of rural and urban environments is a must. I mean, the game is called Ghost Recon, right? We need some crawling in the tall grass. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
If the environment portraied in the concept art is included in the gameplay, like the dense vegetation (from where you can keep an eye on the enemy before attacking, taking out patrols on your approach) and a few key enemy positions (camps, POW camps, radars, bases, etc - like in original GR), then Grin will surely score.

Yesterday, I was playing Delta Force Xtreme for about half an hour. The game has many flaws and can't be called good at all. BUT, I really enjoyed the wide open and huge rural maps with it's rustic charm. You could go anywhere and attack the enemies from various sides.

Longer distance warfare has a charm of it's own and it made me nostalgic about GR1. Oh... how I missed those maps and ambience !

In GRAW, the maps seem to be awesome and very detailed and I like that a lot. Urban fighting can be very exciting. But a few wide open rural maps, suitable for longer range warfare, will be really appreciated.

A good blend of both is what made the original so darn awesome. I second your motion.

You might get a couple of park type maps but I recon that will be it for this game may be as a pack later.

I feel that the maps are going to be big any way not like your normal urban enviroment.
So I am not too fused about the urban scenario.
