The good:

1. Outdoor environments are awesome

2. New moves / equipment are awesome

3. from the feel of the demo i think the missions are very varied and diverse

4. Multiplayer (yet to play it tho)

The Bad

1. GFX seem dated, as if it's just an extension to original Splinter Cell

1.1 Facial animations / expressions are very poor for a 2004 game (Especially when compared to the likes of Silent Hill 3 etc)

1.2. Explosions and other particle effects are poor

1.3. Lighting is looking dated

2. The sound is not as good as the original i feel, especially the music. It fails to convey the tension like the original

3. The missions in single player are far too linear (and simple)

At the end of the day, i think the only saving grace of this game will be multiplayer

the demo represents a part of the final game. if you think about it the demo came out like a week before the final release, i highly doubt they are gonna make any changes to the game. im very dissapointed in the quality of the graphics in PT they look worse than SC1 graphics(for PC) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif. i hope they with change the pc version to make it better for PC users with quality graphic cards, but that probable wont happen this close to the final release for the PC http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif.

Actually, the one thing that disappointed me about the demo was wondering if I misunderstood what some of the interviews said. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they-specifically referring to the train level- say you had a choice of how you wanted to get through the train? You could go on top, underneath, along the side, or through? Duh, there's not much choice there, at least in the demo level. In the baggage car, you HAVE to go underneath, because the connecting door doesn't open. The only time you can go along the top is when you HAVE to, at the start, and at the end. There is only one car you can go along the side of, and only along one side of it.

In fact, your only real path choices is in the passenger car: do you go along the outside ledge, or do you turn out the lights and go through the interior.

I thought about trying to go back through the interior of the train, but the only hatch I can access the roof through is at the front, and you cannot climb from the outside ledge onto the roof.

That sure doesn't seem like multiple paths to me.

Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

Um,, given the game is about to be released in a week, i highly doubt Ubisoft are going to introduce facial animations, better particle effects etc.

Also, the point of a demo is to convince users to buy the product right? So what's the point of releasing something that only reflects 75% of the way the full product plays?

In other words, we're stuck with the poor facial anims, crappy textures etc. I'll still buy the game nonetheless as I'm a diehard SC fan. But it's disappointing that a game that revolutionised gaming 2 years ago, won't do the same in 2004.

OMG how many time do I have to EXPLAIN this. Look people DEMO's are not a peace of the Final Version. Developers work on Demo's seperately and most of the times have the Demo ready half way down the Beta testing of the final version. So many things will change from Demo to Gold. A DEMO is just to give the consumer an idea on how the gameplay and some new effects will feel.

If they had finished this demo half way through the beta why didn't they give it to us a while ago to say...'hey look where we're up to!'b ???

Doesn't work that way. It's part of Marketing. The publisher decide when both Demo and Final ship out. Just the way it is. Demo's most of the time always come out 1 to 2 weeks before Final release.

its 120mb I dont think they're gonna be able to cram everything you want in such a tiny package wait for the final product before you start judging
