Is anyone working on or does anyone know if the following exists:

A manual/listing of all objects available in default sandbox editor with a small thumbnail picture of each one. This could be very useful when trying to design levels and needing to visually see the options available to make best choice.

I seem to remember some web site working on something like this. Obviously this would be a great resource. Anyone? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

For now this tip, from the Swoop/AEon FAQ, may help:

quote:
Is there a way to search all Simple Entities by name?

A: Yes, use Avidal's Web-Based Object Search Tool, that will search through the Simple Entities list by name and tell you which ones contain a specific word e.g. "bridge" in them: http://www.s104.com/farcry/search.php

Err... Isn't that already in the Sandbox??

I use it all the time, plus its better than just thumbnails as it allows you to rotate and zoom all objects.

They propably want to view more than one object at a time. It would be a very handy tool for comparing wich brush would fit better in my map etc.

An another way to have a full screen preview is to shift from perspective view to map view (maximised) and then on the top bar of the map view, do a RMB and select view>ModelPreview. Then on the RollupBar you will able to select any Brush.
If you unpack the objects pak in a folder, you even be able to open the ModelPreview directly when double-clicking a .cgf file.

This larger view will more suitable to take screenshots.

In the object preview on the bottom of the rollup bar... I know you can rotate by using RMB, but how do you zoom?

Also, some objects dont show, just a image of an area of the map your on... why is this?

LMB = Rotate
RMB = Pan
MMB = Zoom

if you don't have a middle mouse button just hold down both mouse buttons for zooming.
