Since first seeing the previews I had believe this title to be a sandbox god game; raise continents, sculpt the world and watch the world move like my own personal ant farm. As it turns out, this title makes the player not so much a god, but more of a babysitter for ants with some not so impressive powers.
This game could have been so much more appealing if interaction between the player and the inhabitants were less direct. Let the ai flourish in the world you create rather than holding their hands through the entire game. Give the players some freedom in their own creativity, build the game features around the results of creation and destruction. If the game is to make nature the star then reintergrate the human element back into nature; let it be an independant existence that is affected by the player but not the objective of play.
I have a dream ladies and gents; to create a world from nothing just to watch it all go crashiing back down beneath the waves. god knows i can't go back to dominos.
