start up help

hello,

I have been playing through the various levels and recently installed a D-link cable modem. Now whenever I try to play the game I get an error. it says, "trouble initating DirectImput". I've tried unistalling and reinstalling the game, and that worked once. after I shut down my comp it doesn't work again. can anyone shed some light on this problem for me.

Maybe it has overwritten some of the drivers or is causing a conflict somehow. I don't know anything about that hardware. Sorry. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The only suggestion I have is to save your save game folder and character folder to another directory, then to use the 1.1 patch to unistall the game, reinstall the game with the 1.1 patch, and then reapply the final 1.4 patch to see if that helps.
