we;ll just build a room with a corridor fill it with gestapo scum and there ya have it,a COD beater if ever i saw 1,COD is not a good game, its UT2004 with WW2 skins,iv read some pretty daft stuff on this forum how cod is REALISTIC.my ar*e its realistic,if the allied forces had fought like the soldiers in COD we would have lost the war within the year....COD is popular because it fuels the myth that 1 soldier can take on the whole of the wermacht.........i pray and hope BIA stays clear of such folly

Thank you njcl...i never looked at COD in that view and your right about it. Good point.
Ender.W, "COD" stands for Call of Duty...a WWII Fps that came out about 1 year ago or so.

bia will probably kick its butt. though if you look st the both of them, they are different games. bia is a squad-based shooter and cod is just an fps. oh well, can't really judge until it's out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The reason I don't like FPS games is because I like my decisions to make a difference and not my reflexes (although they aren't bad http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif). I don't like to belittle CoD fans (or FPS fans in general) for their taste in games. Hell, I have fond memories of far simpler games from a far simpler time. I do however often belittle the hype such games get. In CoD's instance so many say it's the best WWII shooter by far, when from my viewpoint it is exactly the same as MoH only with added scripting for your cinematic pleasure. But I also understand that a game can be greater than the sum of its parts and the illusion of grander battles and squad-based play in CoD may make it great for some.

Anyway, back on track... without posting the now cliched "You can't compare these games... they're totally different!", I will say that it seems BIA may appeal to fans of games like SWAT 3, H&D 1&2 and FSW in an instant. Yet gamers who haven't played these, or your OFPs or GRs, might be instantly attracted to the WWII but be a little overwhelmed by the completely different style of play.

Actually, that might be a good idea. For those who are unsure how to compare BIA to CoD, play H&D 2 and/or one of the games I mentioned above and it might be the basis for a comparison. A rough comparison maybe, but probably a decent one.

that's all i play is fps', but since i LOVE the ww2 era and these gfx are amazing...i'll give it a whirl http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

though, i probably won't be overwhelmed by the elements as you described it. directing your troops is easy, but effective. at least that's what i got from the movies http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

been going back and forth between what BIA is going to have and what CoD has, and i find that CoD has ALOT of inaccuracies when it comes to weapons....ALOT. BIA will be the most realistic WWIIFPS of all time.

and the tactical part of the game is a giant breath of fresh air, we finally get to play a WWII fps the way the war was actually fought by the footsoldiers. no more running around rambo ****, this game is based on actual combat tactics. and its not a "hallway shooter" like CoD and MoH:PA. BiA will employ BIG open maps that dont restict the player to going down one single path in order to complete the objective.

the enemy AI is actually INTELLEGENT, they will move for cover when being shot at, not just stand out in teh open and get it in the face. and they will try to out flank and kill you! not just spawn, standing there shooting at u until u kill them... the AI will use all the same tactics you are using with your squad...supperrsion and movment.

and the final thing is that BIA is based on ACTUAL events that occured during the first 8 days of fighting... all the maps are presicly replicated to their real life counterpart, down to the very last tree even.

a long answer short....BIA will PWN!!!

Edited:

Those 2 games R very diferent.
BIA should be very realistic and tactical and COD is pure FPS with very arcade feeling.

Anti.Hero, I think Call of Duty:Finest Hour is going to be just like regular Call of Duty but for xbox and ps2. I have COD for the computer, and if your looking for a WWII FPS game that lets you do all the work on single player, then deffinately get it. I myself dont really like the COD Single Player because the AI isnt all that great. But the Multiplayer mode is really fun. But BIA is going to OWN Call of Duty when it comes out.

Actually, I don't like MOH though I have played many times because I don't like to fight alone.
COD series are better than MOH at this point. It is my favorite game so far. But I hope BIA would let me forget COD.

evergreentree, i feel the same way...MOH and the COD single player left me feeling like i was fighting the entire Nazi Regime alone. In COD, yea your men would shoot at the nazi's, but they would never hit them...trust me, BIA is going to blow COD off the shelves.

I used to be a big COD fan until it stopped working on my system. I found that COD was a very good game, but not up to some peoples standards. OF COURSE BIA will be better than COD because the makers have had a long time to pick up things from other games. I think that BIA will be really popular for the fps element as well as the tactical elements. The intelligent AI is of medium importance, but it definately would make this game great.

Well i,ll just add my two cents worth in here as well.I have been playing Mohaa for over 18 months for my clan desert rats, i love it because i,mplaying for a clan with tac tics an stuff its cool.
I do though also like play the new United Offensive, their is alot new to this game to much that i don,t care to mention.....saying that there is some bloomin gret new game modes .
these i think will sustain me all with P.A when it comes out.
At the end of the day when B.I.A comes out, this will get my undivided attention.
Here endth the story http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I play COD, and I thought it was better executed than MOH. It is an arcade action game but it is very atmospheric and a lot of fun. The best thing about it was having a Russian campaign, which is extremely rare in games. That part was a lot like the movie Enemy At The Gates. COD is more mindless fun than HD 2 or GR, where you have to think about every move. BIA looks amazing and great fun.

well i prefered MOHAA over COD but it could have done with tons of AI mates, the game really shone when you had 2 or 3 ai buddies, the makers of BIA did a little number called OPPOSING force ADD ON for half life and as a soldier with soldiers to fight with i thought it was excellent, man i never laughed as much in that game, the way the soldiers talked was hilarious,im hoping for more of the same from BIA,of course it has to be serious as its WW2
