I've already created a poll on this: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3291043913/m/8...741017424#8741017424 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3291043913/m/8741017424?r=8741017424#8741017424)

71% of 34 voters wants atleast the old one back.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I didn't know there was a poll for this already. Just thought I'd put this up, since I hate the current NVG'S. Then we need to post something on your thread so we can bring it up to the top of the forums with this poll and show RSE that so many people hate the NVG'S of GRAW.

I don't know where they came up with there night/heat vision...or "Neat" as I have dubbed it. Real NVGs (from what I have seen) produce a greyish tint, not green, where as people show up as bright white figures (not blobs), GRAWs "neat vision" needs some improvements to make it just right IMO.

And one other thing I never understood was, how come you can use the Neat vision during the day!? Good luck trying that with the real deal, and if you do try I hope you have a warranty on it.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

and money for eye surgery cuz you'll go blind. i have a set of 1st and 2nd generation NVG'S. they both show bright green tinted images. the only night vision i've seen that show up grey is in some night shot cameras.

Night vision goggles amplify ambient light. They typically show green because the human eye is most sensitive in that range, so a lower intensity display can be used. That means that you can make out more shade variations and your eyes adjust back to darkness quicker when the goggles are removed.

If people are showing up as bright white, then that's a thermal imaging system. Thermal vision is completely different than night vision because it picks up heat signatures, not visible light. As far as I know thermal vision systems are still too bulky to be worn in goggle form...The latest models used by firefighters are about the size and shape of older camcorders and weigh 3-4 pounds.

Earlier GR games used standard night vision goggles. Splinter Cell has both and you can switch between them.

The GRAW goggles are sort of a combination of the two. I assume it's something that's under development at the moment, because they usually don't just make stuff up for these games. It would be nice if you could turn off the thermal part, or at least turn down the brightness, because it really overwhelms the standard NVG function of the goggles.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I vote to get rid of them.
I bet there are PC guys out there that spend days making hacks like that.
N.V. in this game disgust me, whats the point of concealing yourself if sombody using the glow vison can see you from 30 ft away.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

NV on GRAW turns the game into a complete run and gun fest. Whats the point in having camo if you stand out like a beacon because you're a bright green glowing blob. Another reason why GRAW isnt tactical. But people may argue that you can turn the NV off. It seems you have to turn most things off in GRAW just to get a decent game. You dont even need NV, just turn your brightness upto 10 and the night maps become like day ones. They really should restrict how bright you you can turn the settings up. Maybe a 5 point scale instead of a 20 point one would help with this.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Restriction on brightness adjustments would be nice too. Especially on a dark map, NVG'S off, and you're in a dark shadow, but still get shot because some has their brightness cranked up and see you posted up.

But still you can turn up your brightness on the TV. Like most people did on the nightmap in SS. Don't remember the name... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

They advertised Summit Strike with the feature of, if you turn the brightness up too high, the game becomes harder to see on night maps. I never really noticed that feature. I guess it worked a little bit, but not enough to stop people from increasing the vision capabilities.
