No Desktop Icon, Nothing works . Any Help?

Ok so ive installed the game and i have made sure i have the requirements.
Pentium D Dual Core 3.00 Ghz
Ati Radeon HD4850
4Gb Ram
Windows XP Pro

And all the drivers are up to date.

Now when i install i make sure i keep ' install desktop icon ' is checked.
And when i have finished installing there is no desktop icon and when i autorun and click play . Nothing happens, i get a Farcry 2 process but that is it. I can run the Map Editor fine. And if i try to use any other program that doesnt show aswell

Contacted Ubisoft themselves and they still havent got back to me.

Any suggestions.

I had this prob wen i tried to run it on hdtv..But runs ok on my 24in pc monitor...anyone no why it dont run on my hdtv..just get black screen...Its a brand new samsung 1080p tv can run all other games on it ok crysis ..flfow ..iv got a 24in sumsung pc monitor and it runs with no probs..dose make me fill sick after playing a while as well...would like to get it running on hd tv tho..Any help would be appircated..thx
