First off, I enjoy the series immensley but a few things have always bothered me. This is no way just what I think needs fixing, I'm sure ACIII will be great no matter what
First off, The little details are plentiful in the AC series but for a game about climbing and parkour I'm a bit surprised Ezio's feet don't stay on the ground, by this I mean the walking animation is not at all affected by terrain.
Difficulty is my only complaint, I know you're supposed to be an all powerfull assassin, but what's the point of all those fancy chase mechanics and hiding places if you can just kill every guard that saw or heard about you killing that guy. In AC1 I had incentive for running away, as deadly a man Altair was, he had his limitations and had to run away at some point. One more thing is how forgiving the parkour is, I really don't like how I can jump from the top of a tower and save myself by hooking my fingers into a crack in the wall of a building 3 blocks over. Perhaps after a certain height the assassin begins to ragdoll and eventually fall and get desynced. One more complaint about the difficulty is how you aquire so much armour it's almost impossible to die anyway other than purposely throwing yourself off the top of a building.
Typical stealth, I noticed significantly more of these missions in Brotherhood and for the most part they worked fine, but they could have worked better. Just working in a crouching system or a way to hide around corners and kill from them (sort of like Arkham Asylum) and you could sell ACIII as strictly a stealth game
Prettier NPCs. By this I mean all the npcs look completely the same. I don't understand how Ezio blends in with a croud if he's the only person whose character model was rendered for more than a few minutes. For example, in Red Dead Redemption all the npcs are rendered with as much care and attention to detail as the player chacter and if I had never heard about the game and the camera wasn't focused on the player character I wouldn't know who the player was.
Realer animations would be much more immersive as well, what I'm mostly reffering to is how Ezio climbs with no effort at all. I'm willing to accept he can climb that fast, but I won't accept he can climb like that without any effort being shown. I don't know if the games are mo-capped or not but I'm going to guess that they're not, and I'm going to assume that's why Ezio moves like the strongest man in the world but looks like any averagely in-shape guy.
And finally, a better equipment system. I'll make this quick because you've taken the time to read this and I don't want to bore you any further. Just let us equip or unequip any weapons or equipment we want according to our playstyle and give us pros and cons to that equipment or weapons, like weapons and armour hinder you from running and climbing faster and guards identify you easier but making you a beast in combat while going about your buisiness with just your robes and hidden blades will make you swifter and stealthier it will handicap you in combat
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I apologize if I've come off as anal or demanding and I can only hope that someone from ubisoft montreal atleast takes the time to read this
