i had just bought the game and on the load screen it just has the guy with the 3 circles that is green and it rotates around him saying single player how do i fix

hi when i start up my game it goes to the green charictor on splinter cell and i canot select singleplayer multiplay etc.
is there a reason why this is happening
this is what customer servers gave me

I have the same problem.
My video card is ATI HD6870 and is running Catalyst 11.11 drivers on Windows 7 64bit.
Anyone has similar problem with similar config?

i have uninstalled the updater and the game already and when i try to update it it says error updating CPU

this is my specs and splinter cells specs it seems everything passes other then the cpu..... but the cpu shouldnt be a problem i can run skyrim on my graphics and cpu and battlefield 3 off the cpu so i dont know what the problem is

I found out from the Web that a number of people encountered similar problem in the past. It was due to the game not being installed in the default C:\ drive.
(I did not believe it when I first read it! How can Ubisoft did something like that?)
In my case, my "Stream" programs (and all the purchased games) were installed under a different folder under the C:\ drive. Once I moved the "Stream" folder back to the default location (i.e., C:\Program Files\Stream), the game works!
Hope that applies to you as well!

Sorry, the default folder should be "C:\Program Files\Steam".
