Haze is one of the titles announced to be compatible with the new Sixaxis-rumble controller Sony have announced at TGS. Not much of a surprise, although a relief. However, Sony won't be releasing the controller in the US/Europe until Spring... for crying out loud... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
I wonder if you can import them from Japan? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Now let's think about this rationally man. Let the Japanese find out what all can go wrong and we'll wait for our revised model around fall of 2008. Not that I expect problems but it's better to be safe than sorry.

It's great to hear Haze will be supporting the good old rumble ability, but having to wait until Spring to experience it is definitely a letdown. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif
Better late than never, I guess. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It's Sony not Microsoft. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Seriously though, I wouldn't expect to see any problems with a pad. The real question is will Haze have the ability to use rumble without a patch, and will the patch appear before rumble is released in the west? Now that's more likely to nobble importing for me. Haze I could maybe skip for the moment, but don't try to give me Metal Gear 4 without rumble Sony, I mean just don't even try it...

Personally I've never really cared about rumble one way or the other. It was hardly utilized in any of the titles I owned. It was neat when it was used, say in a racing game when your wheels went off the asphault, or when it mimmicked a heartbeat in Resident Evil Outbreak when your health was critically low. But all in all I can't say that I've missed it in the next gen.

True, but it depends how it's used, and if Sony have implemented the full capabilities of Immmersions' tech then it should be a lot better than the previous rumble... if I only have it for MGS4 then it will be worth it for me.
I've also seen on 1UP's lists that games requiring software updates for rumble support are noted and Haze isn't one of them. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Curiouser and curiouser...
So could this mean that the DS3 could be available as a Haze/DS3 bundle only in the West? It doesn't seem that likely, but then why combine both the DS3 and Haze in this way, and why produce this ad mentioning Christmas if we won't be able to get a DS3 before Christmas, (except by importing?). We know FRD have been working with the rumble controller for months now, (after seeing it blanked out in the dev video) - could this perhaps be a reason why Ubi have gone PS3 exclusive on Haze, by having it bundled with the DS3 which would mean a big bump in sales?
I've got to say that would be a big deal for Haze and Free Radical, but I don't think it's that likely. More likely to me is that Ubisoft are using the fact of the DS3 functionality to help push Haze in front of gamer's eyeballs.
On the other hand, if you bring out the DS3 then you need to sell it with software of some kind. I thought that would have been with GT5 Prologue, but as that's dropped back to 08 in the West, perhaps Haze is that controller-seller... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
