Hi,

I'm not sure if im posting in the right place or talking to the right people but I'm hoping some developers will read this.
I'm writing this because I wanted to ask to release Heroes Of Might and Magic 3 to the public, release it under gnu licence and give out the sdk so that people who use linux or anything else can play the great classic game. It was and still is the best one from the franchise. I always wanted to mod the game and be able to add my ideas to make it even better and to be able to get a good community to play it online.

Heroes 3 Complete doesn't seem to be difficult to find on eBay, shipping would be the only issue. Otherwise, the game's demonstrated itself to be very moddable indeed, not that I've ever cared too much for these mods myself.

Try Amazon.com They sell H3 complete for $20. That’s the Ubi revampt for Windows XP version.

They also sell H3 complete for $28. That is the 3DO version for Windows 95/98.
I have the Ubi version and it works perfectly under XP. Though I did hear something about Ubi changing something to where Online doesn’t work anymore.

Of course, this change could simply be that they changed it to now play on Ubi’s servers... which would explain why people have problems with the Online playing.

I wouldn’t know since I don’t play MP, I just can tell you that the Ubi version werks perfectly in single player and that all H3 maps you can DL from the internet (that I tried) also work under the Ubi version.

i have the game from 3do but i would like it to be open source so people can transfer it to linux and such so it would be another great game to be played natively on linux
and would like to give it to my friends so they can play with me
