Can't complete beat up "Philanderer on the roof" because of glitch. (PC version)

As soon as I engage the husband in any way, attacking or waiting for him to react for example. He glitches away and disappears entirely. The minimap indicator says he is at the same height as he was but he is nowhere to be seen.

Can't you just abandon the mission and retry it?

Thats what I've been doing. Every time I try to engage the husband he disappears. It doesn't matter how I approach him.

I had a disappearing lever in one of the tombs in Venice, even though I couldn't see it, it was still there (admittedly, watching Ezio hanging on thin air was amusing)

Try attacking as normal and see if you hit him regardless.

After about an hour of playing about with this, I think I may have solved the issue. As long as you keep the husband from being in the center of that wooden platform, then he shouldn't bug. I would suggest punching him into the barrier nearest to the sea and then onto the roof. Of course, be careful not to knock him off. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Same problem here...can't stop/quit mission, only way is to desync and try again.

Last thing to do in venice, knew I should have ignored it and looke for feathers.

HI everyone...i had the same problem..but i did it!!! I try and try and try,then: I wait on roof next to him till he interested me. he follow me on roof. i throw one knife - his life was on 50%. i don't beat him until he starts runing out from me. then i follow him to the ground and then i beat him. Try this, in my case i sucessed. PS: Sory 4 my poor english. GL HF

I also have this problem. Realized I actually managed to miss this beat-up when I finished the game. Ironic that the only mini-quest I missed was the buggish one. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Me too. after many efforts, i went from behind him, where he couldn't see me. i went to him so that he could see me and suddenly his girlfriend doubled! Both times this happened (the first one i accidentally threw him in the sea) i could beat him without him dissapearing. Hope the rest of you had luck

I altered my graphic settings down to minimum and it worked.

I also had the same problems of a disappearing target on the last assassination on the pope.

I managed it the same way.

I have an nvidia sli system. It might be related to this...

Hope we get a patch.

I had the same issue, but kept playing it through until it finally worked.

A few times the wife actually appeared on the roof with us.. us being the husband and his bit of stuff...

I thought it was gona get really interesting but it was just a glitch lol

The time i got it to work I approached from ground level and didn't attack the target until he attacked me...maybe I just got lucky

I reported this as a bug in ticket 100623-000308. The tech support guy (name withheld out of courtesy) states "As indicated previously, this is not a bug, glitch, or any other sort of problem with the game." In a prior message he suggested I look for hints and tips. I requested his manager contact me but he refuses to have his manager get in touch. For making such great quality games, this dismissive customer support is some of the worst ever. I knoes how it goes TY. You just need to take POST-EFFECTS OFF and it should work out. Atleasst worked for me..
