I don't think it's a VIIC.
More like a VIIA or VIIB.
No spray shield on CT.

spray shield does not mean VIIC.
VIIC is a modification of the conning tower (exhaust, air intake, wintergarden...) but of the internals too.
But you can be right, it is maybe a VIIB.

She IS a VIIB, Osakajoe is just about there! Anyone now narrow it down to the exact ship? That skull-&-crossbones wasn't such a common badge...

I have a book somewhere with most of the CT-Badges, I'll look it up this evening.

Osakajoe is Experte http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif!
twinter, do not put your book away, I endeavour to post another. This 'laughing swordfish' badge is more a Flotilla emblem, so a http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifif you know that, but Osakajoe might even be able to name the Commander (to the left of the fish) & exact ship...http://img163.exs.cx/img163/4328/mysteryub25ar.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

Gotta start a process of elimination and work it out from there.
Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock in U-96?

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifyou know what you're talking about, Osakajoe. The source only gave 'Kapitaenleutnant Lehmann Willenbrock', but he did indeed command U-96, a Type VIIC, Sept 1940 - March '42. The laughing swordfish is a badge used by the 9th Flotilla, but that ship was in 7 U-Flottille at the time of his command. It is therefore more likely to be U-256, which he commanded Sept - Oct '44. She had been in 9th Flotilla, July '42 - Oct '44 and presumably retained the badge. Your recognition of a commander is more impressive than getting an emblem. Later I will post more pictures of men to name...
So today is the great day for the official release of SH3. I went to a local computer games shop yesterday & the guy knew all about X-box & Playstation, but had never heard of U-boats. He would not, as I suggested, go and look in the back of the store, as it was lunchtime and he was alone. No doubt he thought I would steal those scheissdreck childrens' games as soon as his back was turned! I try again today, but installation will have to wait till Sunday. Bockholt is patient.
Greetings, friends, and may your problems with the much-looked-forward-to Silent Hunter III be small, removable ones http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif lol
