xbox 360 game differences?

I just bought this game yesterday and have played through it once already in the campaign mode and some things don't really seem to line up after finding this forum. In my version Joe doesn't die on D-Day (not complaining) and I had no indicating "lines" on my screen when doing the sandstorm mission to tell me where the basses were. That certainly made that mission a bit more of a PITA, but I still managed to find them all.

Is this regular for Xbox 360 versions, or am I special?
