Does it show up in Control Panel, Game Controllers?
(If so, it should work in IL2...)

From your comments, I presume you have more than one joysticks connected on your PC or, at a certain time, you installed both joysticks at the same time, therefore the first joystick ever installed was JostickControler#1 and the second JostickControler#2
IL2FB has a bad way of handling josticks.
The easiest way to solve your problem is to manually allocate the joystick to specific functions inside IL2. Quick fix:
select a mission, press fly.
In the air pers Esc
go to the controls menu
scroll all the way down, at the HOTAS (HandsOnThrottleAndStick) area
You must see the positions for the Elevator, Aileron, Rudder, Throttle, Brakes, Trims control.
On the rihgt of each of these you see the joystick control that is currently allocated to it.
Now careful!:
With the mouse, go above the selected joystick control and click on it - it becomes blank.
Without touching anyhting else, move now the Sidewinder joystick in the direction you want to be using for this specific function.
[For example: if you are defining your elevator function, click to start the definition and then move the stick in the direction up/down.
if you are defining your aileron function, click to start the definition and then move the stick in the direction left right.]
Your stick movement will be identified and will fill the empty space.
Be aware that IL2FB recognises the movement of the Axis as well as, the direction! You can see this by noticing [Axis Y] or [Axis -Y] so make sure to put in the correct movements otherwise your controls will behave in a way opposite to what you have been used to ;-)
Having done the changes you want, exit the menu by pressing apply.
Fly now (or sellect an external view) and check whether your controls are working.
I hope I could be of help and, good luck.
