Trying to Demo Building in Suburbs - Spoiler

Hello. My GF and I are having problems trying to demo the building in the Suburbs level to block the tanks. We take out the tangos in the street, run up to the corner of the building, wait for the C4 to show up in both our screens, pull the L trigger, but nothing happens. The C4 icon will just disappear when the L trigger is pulled, doing nothing. One controller seems to affect both screens as well. The only way we have been able to set the charge is if one of us dies. When one dies, it is a piece of cake.

We have tried many things, just to get blown up by the tanks.

What are we doing wrong? Other boards have not been able to answer this question. If we can not figure this out, I am just going to return the game and take the lost.

Hmmm... Sounds like it might be a glich or something. But I've never heard of it happening to anyone else. Are you trying it split-screen? If you are I can try playing it, to see what happens. Also what system are you playing it on? Xbox or PS2? Don't give up too fast now.

I played this on co-op on LIVE and we were standing there trying for about a minute before we realized we both needed to place charges. Then it took us over a dozen tries to get the timing just right. Actually it was more luck, we just kept spamming to place charges and eventually they got set. Was kind of annoying IMO, but anyways we did get it to work in co-op after a while.

Forgive me not adding spoiler to my title. Sorry.
The version that I am playing is for original Xbox. We are playing it in split-screen under co-opt. Last night we played this section a dozen times or more until we just got frustrated with it. We both thought that the other was doing something wrong and you can imagine how that went.

I think we will give it a little more time to figure it out.

Other things we have tried; one at the small side of building and one at large side of building, waiting for the tanks to get right on top of us (nothing like a tank's turent aiming at your heading), one person at the wall at a time, both controllers pressing L at the same time, one controller pressing L, holding down L and pressing the other buttons, all resulting with nothing.

I just got done trying it. I ran into the same problem as you described. I honestly don't know what to tell ya. I'm really sorry I couldn't help. Perhaps someone else can. Sorry.

Well when we got it to work, one of us was on the left side of the corner and the other was on the right side of the corner. Took about 30 sec. worth of hitting the button over and over til it finally planted the charge.

Thank you so much for going through the trouble of trying to solve this problem. I am glad to hear that we are not going crazy. hehe. We tried it again earlier and no luck. Don't worry, our relationship (personal and gaming) is still strong. hehe She never played games until she met me and she is a pretty good shot now. She would make a great sniper.

Can anyone else confirm the same problem that Nipples and I are experiencing and if they solved it. Please!!! lol

Just beat it again since my last post. You'll notice when you run up to the blue triangle, there are two triangles when you are playing co-op. One triangle is on the left side of corner, other is on right side of corner. My bro. went to left and I went to right, and we both repeatedly hit L at the same time really fast before the tank even got there. Took about 3-4 seconds of button mashing but it worked. So, I have done it in co-op on LIVE and on system link now, so it is just a matter of doing it right.
