As some of my fellow forum members may have noticed, early yesterday evening, on learning that political and religious discussion has now been banned on these forums, I took a swipe at Andy and decided to blame him for the current situation.
On reflection I now realise that this was grossly unfair on my part and Andy, if you're reading this, I would like to offer and hope you will accept my sincere and unreserved apology.
As we have all known and has been pointed out elsewhere today, this ruling has been a long time coming but certainly not unexpected. All I can offer as an explanation for my outburst is my frustration that the breadth of opinion, experience and insight that these boards offer us all has been restricted to a degree.
But it's not the end of the world as we know it and the more I consider the situation the more convinced I become that this ruling will eventually have a beneficial effect by encouraging people who have been reluctant to post of late to return here and hence enrich the experience for us all.
