I was playing game a while just for training real stuff. And i must be pretty good up to now. But maybe just experience with older similar games. I have my ixb class sub and so far so good. This is story to chill the bones about things i have .
I was wondering near Free town, entered the port and no sign of ships. My fuel is about to return in base. I was very very dull in that mission. Just wanted to set 30km from Lorrient and turn off the game. I was about to dive to save fuel in the line of Gibratral about 400km western and set course to base When....Wo screamed "Ship Spoted" We was just painted ship upon painted ocean for days...hmm who is that. Simply V&W Destroyer 7000m away.Well i was just to dive when he screamed Again... Ship spotted.. Hunter II,, hm whats that??? I saw carefully with UZO and it was there King George V with 4 ships around heading 20kts NNW. Oh My, Yummy. As i said before . Fuel was critical very critical. But ok I will try. I set course around, becareful to be on 6000m from them. Then I got my solutioms and started to dive on periscop depth in angleof 90' towards them. I rised my periscope every 3 mins, I estimate twice everythin( I m still bad in manuel targeting i m still slow but sink a lot)I was 2038m from him and I was Spotted. I threw my dice for a crew and aheaded closer. 1200m light demage on my attack periscope. Set torpedos on 2m fast salvo, opened hatches and fired. I dived on 150 m . I heard no Sign no groan of them. Damn. Damn. Then GOT IT!!! 2 Hits . Then I started to worry. I was taking demage. Flack Gun, Con. tower. Depth charges, depth charges. I was manuvering about 10 mins , depth 145-165, and some Guy on surface got evil on my.OK ..I fought good, i fought well , come on i will give a hell!! Settle periscope depth. He is still against me. I rised poeriscope an i saw him V&W Destroyer behind me.I set srern torpedos on 2 m, magnetic, i had no time to estimate just got distance 341M and circled closing.I threw the dice once more and shoot. 35 second i saw him explode, blown up its keel.No sign of others they got too far. I estimate fuel and search pattern. ok i ll go in 1third,40 mins later i heard...Warship moving slow, moving away, bearing 274 long range. I I rised my periscpe in that derection 8 mins later i saw King George V 7kts NNE. Bateries were abnout 50% and 25 mins later after solution and closing enough I gave him STING OF MERCY.
On the way home Lady luck smiled at me again. Ship Spotted C3 Cargo directly in my way. Well I gave my gunners chance. Fire at will in 1900m, cause i was tired of manuel estimation for that day . My gunners tore him appart just like that.
I came in Base on wapers of fuel.
I dont use patches, set real game as much i could, didnt sink too many like you guys but this is Hell of the game and i have always hell of time.
