I installed RvS a little while ago but it wouldnt work with my old card so i manually deleted the files. now that i have a new card i'm trying to install the game,but all i get is "Uninstall RvS" when i put in cd1. I think it is because i didnt use the uninstall option, but instead deleted the folders myself. is there a way around this? if so, someone plz tell me. thx

if it says unistall it, then unistall it and install it again. If not then your gonna have to reformat your hardrive and delete everything start brand new.

If you are comfortable using "regedit" in the "start/run", then open open registry using regedit and search for all instances of Raven Shield and delete them..then try to reinstall

I dont feel comfortable with formatting the hard drive. where the main problem is is when i click uninstall on the autorun menu for cd1. an error message comes up:

>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (439)
PAPP:Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield
PVENDOR:Red Storm Entertainment ( http://www.ubi.com)
PGUID:AF131494-F5D8-45C5-938C-D5F020CF1B0D
$7.1.100.1248
@Windows XP Service Pack 1 (2600) IE 6.0.2800.1106

I think that this error message is the result of deleting the files manually as i said before. if anyone knows what this error message exactly means and how to get by it so i can install, please tell me. also, which files for RvS should be looked for to delete in regedit? please let me know if you know which files to look for.

my best advice is load all yer important files onto a cd. burn said cd. take a mallet...o wait ferget the mallet. reformat...every once in a while comps crap out and they need to be reformatted.

1. go to your start button and click on "run" then type "regedit".

2. highlight "my computer" at the top.
3. Use ctrl+F and search for "Raven Shield"
4. Delete result.
5. Use F3 to continue the search/delete process.

This will get rid of any dirt left behind because you just deleted the RVS directory and its contents.
