View Full Version : Why can't these UBI programmers put leaning back into the game?!

Because the devs think that a cover system that lets you see around a corner is cooler than actually peeking around the corner which could lead one to get capped. Oh, and they are lazy. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Third Person mode allows for LOWER
skilled gamers (Console/casual)
to play a FPS without needing
to learn how to play a real fps.

Too many buttons confuse these
type of gamers so know R6 and GR
series has been dumbed down
instead of creating a new series
for these type of people while
real gamers miss out on the old
way R6 and GR was.

I doubt R6 or GR series
can ever get back to decent
gameplay , with ubi releasing
GRAW1/GRAW2/R6 Lockdown/Vegas 1
and Vegas 2 is a down hill
slide in decent game play
and a contined buggy featureless
game series's

Being on a console have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it. It's very possible to make a game with lean.

In fact, with the exception of Lockdown which I'm unsure of, all R6 and GR games on the consoles had the lean.

There's nothing wrong with a cover system either as long as it simulates what a real soldier would do and what he would see while doing it, etc.

The one and only problem is UBI.

PS: Why the heck do you put a line break in the middle of all your sentences? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif lol

I think that is had to do more with giving you a fighting chance, at least against the Super Human Tangos that can kill you w/o so much as even looking at you.

In the real world, enemies DO NOT storm at you like a flock of seagulls but they do in the Realistic world of UBI so, if they make you lean/peak instead of giving you this fighting chance, you would never be able to get to the next map.

Of course I am only talking about SP play since I have no idea what MP is all about.

Because it is something the community wants and UBI doesn't put things into games that the community wants. Of course they could put both in and give the players an option. Uh oh..there's that option word. Surprised it's not filtered on these forums.

Your right thats why their poorly cooled consoles break from heat issues. I have a 360 that i bought 6 months after launch and it still runs, wanna know why? because i dont stay on it all day long, and if i wanted to i know heat wise it couldnt handle it.

You want leaning put back in? They had a hard enough time getting whats in the game now to work, and still are, and still haven't gotten it right, and you want them to add something else?

Can't say I disagree with you on the leaning tho, I wish it was there too.

You want to ensure Ubi puts it in the next patch? Post a thread about how you think leaning will ruin gameplay.

But the cover system in the Vegas games is 100% fantasy land. You can't see around corners unless you physically stick your head out.

That's the point. And no I don't agree that it was created for "lower skilled" players as much as it was intended to make playing a more cinematic experience, ignorant of realism and the laws of physics.

Either way, it's a stupid decision that should never have been included in a Rainbow Six game.

That is the #1 problem I have with Vegas. I think that if they put the leaning feature back in, or making it so you have to use a mirror to see around a corner (and you can only see where the mirror is pointing) it will make a lot of us happy.

In SWAT4, you have a mirroring tool that lets you see around corners, but enemies can also see that (similar to the current Snake Cam in R6V2, but can be used around corners of walls as well)

Honestly, how realistic is it to expect them to a) put leaning in and, b) take 3rd person out?

It's not gonna happen. This game was doomed from the start.

Exzactly ,wake up please people!
They cant even produce a game at the moment, let alone add the lean feature, think that wud be pushing it abit for Ubisoft.

Sell it while its still worth something.(SUPRISED) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Yes. And that was a really good idea. No cheap out of body experience to see around the corner.

How about this: you could use the leaning buttons to just peek, without sticking your gun out, by pressing for example the walk key.

Yea, a lot of the old 360's cooling systems were pretty bad.
Personally I got one that had the optimum cooling system and won't ever get hot.

i can tell you realistically if i was a special op.s dude i wouldn't be sticking my head out "anywhere" an enemy might be hiding around a corner

thats why i have Tactical Mirrors, Optical Wire,(enter random cool thing that will basically go unnoticed yet will quickly let me see all i need to AND where to shoot)

i think the cover modes just what they could see/do in real life "simplified"

the ideas good... but it sucked gameplay wise and was useless in MP

since when does it take 4 minutes for a fully trained SWAT member to pull out a stick, pull it out so its long, and stick it under a door?
