Why is this?

I just bought Vegas 2 today and was very excited to play but to my dismay is runs sluggish. I cannot explain it i have way above the recommended requirements even http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest says i do. I have a Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 4 gigs of ram an amd 9600 phenom its quad core. I am able to run cod 4 on high urt3 on high age of conan on high and run them perfectly but for some reason Vegas runs so slugishly any insight as to why this may be?
