Ouch! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

It seems odd for a release date to be stored like this on a website. If true, at least we will have some idea of when to expect the game, (it matches well with the Games TM date of autumn 07), and it may explain the hold back of information from January. Six months after launch of the PS3 gives me something major to look forward to anyway - this may be part of the reason for the 'delay'.

(Cue: 'They have to get it out before Halo 3' rants http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif).

David Bloomfield ay? Doesn't suit that speaker.. but I wonder who francis peshy and Adrian teare are.

Also if some ppl didn't know, they may think they've stumbled upon a real companie's website...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

September 07?

What if Halo comes out the next month?

No. I don't like it. They should release it before. I really want this game to sell well. FRD is an amazing dev team and they've yet to receive the good publicity they deserve.

Heh, awesome work there nu_ignition, although I should point out that I can neither confirm or deny that date at this point. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Glad you guys are enjoying the site, I didn't even realise it had gone live, and I'm somewhat confused as to why it didn't even receive a mention here on the official forums...

Regarding Halo 3, let me just again emphasise that it is a 360 only title - we have PS3 and PC versions of HAZE that it won't be competing with, and even on 360 I am more than happy to see HAZE go up against it because I am absolutely convinced that HAZE is going to be the better game. Bring on the competition, I say.

Neko.

So is this part of the 'something good in january' you were planning on, Neko?

I'm with you... HAZE will easily compete. Also, if folks are worried about Halo3's effect, keep one thing in mind. Halo's hype will only continue to increase until it is released. After release, no hype can help whether it's a good or bad game. If HAZE comes out after Halo, then you'll have people who are finished with Halo and looking for a new experience. (Again, this is aside from the fact that HAZE will be multi-platform upon release.)

On to the website. Woot. I love realistic advertising. And to think that it's UbiSoft doing this, and not just you wacky blokes at FRD (So I peeked at the whois...) Hope this is just the beginning of a good relationship where you don't have to keep shopping around for publishers with each new game!

Now... how to get into those restricted areas on the site. Damn Lars' White Box! I cacn't even fill out an employment application so I can EARN access....

Hey... Here's an Idea. Grab some of us from the HAZE boards to write some fictional posts as MANTEL employees. You wouldn't even really have to tell us any ANSWERS, just have us ask a few QUESTIONS that would creep folks out. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If any of you have played .hack, though, you know what I'm talking about. Some of the BBS entries are innocuous, but some of them genuinely creep you out when you know the context.

You're not the only one! I was very happy to hear both you and the Art guy burn Halo, I hope there's more of you like that at FRD.

I look forward to future gameplay announcements.

Oh man, our lead artist really isn't a Halo fan. Which is pretty good because it means there's no way he'd rest until he was sure HAZE was absolutely going to blow H3 out of the water. And you know what? I think he's done it, too!

Personally, I quite like Halo. The first more than the second, like most people, but I wasted plenty enough hours playing coop on it. But I dunno, I kinda feel like Halo 3 is still stuck in the last gen; they're all about wrapping up the trilogy and delivering the same old Halo gameplay (except with brutes, apparently :/) when really, a new generation is about new experiences, games that you simply couldn't have made for previous consoles. It'll be a good game, I've no doubt (I hope so - I'm still looking forward to playing it!), but I feel like I've seen it before. Whereas HAZE, well, I really don't think I've played anything quite like HAZE before. And right now that's as much as we need.

Plus it helps that we've got an absolutely kick-*** marketing team at Ubi HQ, too. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oh and first post.

Yeah, I've seen it before. It was in a continuous loop on the Mantel webpage before that went down...
I have to admit, it's not exactly my favorite movie, the camera keeps changing, and the CEO doesn't come off as well and as believable as he does in the official trailer (which I think is great).

What is intresting though is that Free Radical is using a real actor for the videos. I wonder if they're doing something like C&C where they have real actors in the cutscenes...

I have spent some time reading through the details of the mantel website and to be honest the dates of things just dont add up. Like why were the Carrington family assissinated in 2020 at Camp David a full 15 years before H Carrington Sr became president? Its madness I tells ya.

Even so I am looking forward to this game, oh yes indeed.

Ok boys, so I'm digging up an old thread here with my first post but I thought it appropriate to ask,and this is the Haze forum, the best place to do it.

I'm guessing we've all seen the Mantel official Website (link on the first post). Now forgive me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that there is some sort of code. Random worlds are underlined, and they don't seem to be the important words in the paragraphs.

Anyway, the words:
Industry, Passenger, Laboratory, Plane, Better, Most, Electronic, Division, Latest, Needs, Means, Agents, Remote, Specially, On, Life, Ever
World, Places.

Now I might be seeing something that is'nt there, but I've got a sneaky suspicion theres more to that site than meets the eye.

Check it out, see what you think.

When we create corporate sites, we are typically asked to highlight key terms that tie into the spirit of the company, or that represent important components to the company's business or values. These terms link to separate pages that deal with things from day to day corporate business and product, to overarching moral staples of the corporation, sharing only the common goal of detailing the desired outwards face of the corporation.

You may be very well be right in that there is a deeper thing going on, but being used to the composition of ultra-corporate sites, it doesn't stick out as unusual to me.

I can understand your arguement but the underlined words don't link to anything else, and the words used don't really seem to be the key words in the sentence.

The words underlined are:
Industry
Passenger
Laboratory
Plane
Better
Most
Electronic
Division
Latest
Needs
Means
Agents
Remote
Specially
On
Life
Ever
World
Places

Also looks like the source code has been ammended with the removal of the release date and platform support:

I think the underlined words do have a larger meaning. I don't know if anyone else has found this yet but when I clicked on the underlined word 'better', in the Mantel health section, it played a video.

The video showed four graphs the second two were marked confidential.
1. Mantal Global Industries
Fiscal year 2025 (pie chart)
2. Nectar Financial impact
(line graph with year 2015 marked when Nectar was introduced)
3. Nectar and Heart Failure
(line graph showing maximum affect at 15ml and heart failure at 30ml)
4. Mantel revenues by sector
(Bar graph comparing Mantel to competetors)

can anyone put those 20 words together in a way that makes sense?

Rasomaso
06-29-2007, 10:06 AM
I don't think they should make a sentence. There are 19 words and only 2 verbs.

Industry division needs the electronic remote on agents? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Agents on the most places means the better world? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I think that rather than trying to create a miracle code sentence, it might be better to start grouping words that go together. This is what I have so far. Feel free to add on or make changes.

electronic industry
Division needs agents
better life
on passenger plane
means remote places

latest
Laboratory
Most
Specially
Ever
World
As

NMCJackassxxx
06-30-2007, 06:37 AM
okay im gonna try this again to see if it makes more sense

Latest Division needs most agents ever
specially as world industry means better life

I'm not sure how this would fit in to my latest attempt at cracking the code...

electronic laboratory
on passenger plane
remote place
