Do you enjoy traveling? Do you have a favorite vacation spot? And is there anywhere you want to go to?

I love to travel, especially on aircraft. Best part is, I get to travel by myself, meaning no parents. I've been traveling alone since I was about 10, but at that time, I needed an "escort"(Not the kind you think http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif).

Traveling in car is second best. I like riding at night in car, but I'm afraid me and whoevers driving will get ubducted by a UFO http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif if we drive at night and if there is no one else around. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I've never been on a boat before and I should be riding on a helo soon. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'd say Sunday River, Maine. My favorite skiing resort so far, although the top of one of the mountians there was a bit of adventure...
(It was NOTHING but ice. Not a hint of snow anywhere! Basically we skidded for 300 feet until we hit snow.)

That's what I did except it was on my street and I was riding a bugyboard. Living in New England is fun, I would say, eh soulfire? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Definitely. We had SO many snow days last year... we paid for it in the summer, but it was worth it.

The best part is, I don't make up my snow days http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif. Anyway, living in New England is pretty good, it's just that school bores me and the only time I really get out for excercise is in the summer in Florida. Man, my life SUCKS.
Oh, also, we had these days of intense rain(I'm sure you remember) and my school was closed for two days, and I didn't make them up http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif.

I think the rule around here is that if there's a state of emergency, you don't have to make them up.
And those floods definitely qualified. My school was full of evacuees! Well, sort of... people who's homes were flooded or surrounded by water. We got out for 3 days and didn't have to make them up.

No, not a Chinook. A Chinook has it's engines on the outside and 4 landing gear.

A Sea Knight otherwise known as a Phrog. Marines have been using ph for the f sound for some 40 years when spelling phrog. Whoever it was who thinks they started it with the phat this and ph**** that wasn't original at all.

NormalGuy_abc
07-29-2006, 02:25 PM
They used it in The Vietnam War, right? If they did, that's another "tool" that has been used for a while.

WhiteKnight77

Both the Chithook and the Phrog are Vietnam era birds. Unfortunately, the Phrog is almost at it's life's end. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

I go to Puerto Rico alot. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I visit family there almost every summer. I usually travel by plane, considering driving's kind of impossible. I'm not sure I'd like a boat-ride all the way over there, though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif So yeah, for long trips, flying is definitely the best. For not so long trips, driving, I guess is the only option.

Of course, if it was me and a bunch of friends, I wouldn't mind a road-trip almost anywhere (where possible http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif).

I travel a lot in San Antonio. The furthest I've been a way from here was when I went to Tennessee, and I don't even remember the trip because I was only 2 yrs. old.

Yeah, I travel alot in my town too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I mean, it's to the grocery store... the theaters... stuffs like that. For "shopping" though, since our Walmart (the biggest store here) sucks, we go to Corpus, about an hour away. Or Victoria, more rarely. Other than that, I'm usually just here. *sigh* Bored.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can't wait to go back to school. I agree, just being at home is boring, I want to hang out and talk with my friends.

NormalGuy_abc
07-31-2006, 09:26 AM
I want to go to different countries. I've only been on an international flight once to Columbia with my father. I'm thinking of going to the Bahamas, Japan, China, Canada, and all those very small islands in the Pacific, where there are actually people http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

P.S. @omega: I'm Puerto Rican too! But I don't go there much--shame on me.

Omega_224
07-31-2006, 09:31 AM
@seinfan: Me too! It's crazy, I can't wait for the 24th. Yes, the tests, work, etc. But here I can only talk to friends on the phone. I see them everyonce in a while (last time was this Saturday... but before that was about a month ago). But at school you see'em every. Freakin'. Day! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I always find that fun. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif But yeah, being home sucks. I'm always calling friends, trying to arrange something we can do. Movies or something.

@NormalGuy: Really? Awesome! Yeah, I only go once a year. I went in June this year, but before that it'd be three years! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif That was a little long. Before those three years I'd gone every year.

Yeah, I'd like to visit a bunch of places too. Israel and Germany mostly. Ironic, 'cause... nvm. But yeah, I wouldn't mind visiting Japan or Australia or England or Canada or other places. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I hated the last week of school last year because all we did was nothing but Interim Tests. We didn't have a real last day of school. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Omega_224

That sucks. The last week of school was pretty good for me. We got out on a Thursday, and we were finished with all our exams or w/e by Tuesday. So Wednesday was basically 8 hours of whatever we wanted to do, and Thursday was the same. I went to a party at a friends house right after, Thursday. Then Friday went to Graduation. Saturday a friend's Grad party. That was an awesome week. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Sorry yours sucked, though. What grade are you in?

Nuh-uh... Haven't heard of alot of things. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I'm just barely familiar with my own town. And Corpus, where I go alot. I go to AC Jones in Beeville, next year's my Senior year. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif YAY!

Really? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif All we did was some vocab. competion and we raced pieces of paper down a line of fishing line. It's better than it sounds. We got to go into the woods behind our school, and my friend and I ended up in another city! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I'm not really looking forward to the eighth grade since I don't know if my friends are going to be in my class. Plus, my seventh-grade science teacher isn't going to be switching to eighth grade--he was the best teacher ever. The work I don't mind since I usually do very well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

@omega: You're lucky, sophomores are still considered "fish" at my school.

@normalguy: I remember my 7th grade English teacher, she was so hot. 'Tis a shame she moved to Boston. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Yeah. And the best part was, I didn't begin public school until second semester of my Junior year. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif So I skipped the whole "fish" period. XD That sucks, though. Sophomores are called S'mores here. It's gay, yes. Juniors and Seniors don't have names like that, though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hahaha, I had a really hot teacher once. Fifth grade... *cough* I started homeschool in sixth grade until half of my Junior year. So yeah. All the teachers at the HS are old, though. Or young, but not much to look at. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

That's okay, though. The students suffice. XD

Hahaha, yeah. Especially for me, I'd say. The last time I was around that many girls at one time was in fifth grade, when I could care less. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif It's a little better now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

lol... I started "liking" girls in about second grade, actually. But it was always "tee hee, she's pretty" kind of stuff. Not actually "liking" them. That started around 3rd-6th

If you really want to travel, join the military. I was born in upstate New York, the base I was born at no longer exists though. BRAC got it in the 90's. From there, we moved to Louisiana. We lived in Japan for three years from when I was 7-9 years old. From there we moved to Nebraska. After that, we moved to Virginia.

While I was in the military, I went to Parris Island in South Carolina. From there to Millington Tennessee north of Memphis. After that, it was to Tustin CA with the largest hangers in all of California. After I went active, I left Norfolk to Okinawa Japan and while there, went to the Philippines, South Korea and even a short time in North Korea.

The rest of my travels include Costa Rica for my sisters wedding and a Ubi paid trip to Germany for Games Convention 05 to meet with Bo Andersson from GRIN.

I love to travel! Great thread! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I envy Seifer .... he is in Atlantis... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif If you've never looked at their site, DO.... it's in the Carribbean, and it's got a 60 ft almost vertical drop water slide through an under water tunnel (shark infested waters, as they say!) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I would LOVE to see that!

I'm thinking my next trip will be to Aruba/Barbados. Then I would love to see Ireland and Scotland. For those of you who live there, I'm sure it's not that exciting.... but if you went to New York.. that's how I would see it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Although I don't mind traveling, it's great to be back again (Although I had a helluva trip)
