ne1 having problems with the game loading a new area and just toward the end of the load up bar, my comp reboots.

I have textures maxed, and af maxed, sounds bout 2 notches down from maxed and aa on medium, ive lowered everything bits at a time with the same result, i would think my comp is more than capable of running it all maxed out to enjoy what eye candy this game has to offer.

sys specs: P4 3.06, 1 gig ram, ati 9700 pro w/latest drivers, sblive aud.2

runs all other games flawlessly but something in the loadup is causing reboots, just curious if anyone has encountered this and has any fixes.

thnx, ok now for some help from another topic, feel free to help me with what could be spoilers. thnx again

A few of us have had the same problem. It seems to be something to do with ATI video cards.
What worked for me is I updated to Catalyst 3.8 drivers (I did have 3.7) and I also had to lower my AGP from 8X to 4X in the BIOS.

Another tip is to backup your saved game folder regularly. It appears that sometimes when the game crashes it corrupts your saved game files and therefore your progress in the game.

I hope this helps. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Try downgrading to the Catalyst 3.8 drivers, apparently the 3.9 drivers have some issues.

AHHH!!!

I had this reboot thing happen all through the game, but I delt with it because I really wanted to play the game. I beat it, and what do you know... another reboot, only this time it tanked my avatar too.... This sucks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif. I'm downloading and installing new drivers right now!!!
eh... I guess it's not all that bad. I have a reason to play the game over again http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
