View Full Version : Include some WOG ideas

Hi all,
Heroes 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. There are some improvements I would like to see. I never liked heroes 4, but some of the ideas of 4 made it into the unofficial WOG patch. I liked certain things especially much more control of random maps. I would like to see a timer included during battle to speed things up. I would like to see the random maps get better. Mines within a day of castle. No trapped in a valley. No right next to each other. I still play my friends online or lan and think it is a great game. I have high hopes for heroes V.

I love the Mithril resource! Could be more useful though.

The WOG is great. Thanks to this patch I keep playing HEROES 3 on and on.
I think that there are few ideas which should be in HEROES 5 :
- experience of units (fantastic idea)
- units may cast spells
- mithril
- level 8 creatures ( in new Heroes there HAVE to be at least 7 levels of creatures)
- and as Mindwarp 1969 were saying system of options to the random map so you could plan the game better.

I subscribe to all the proposals above, and add one more (also from WoG): "increase creature stack" - with 4%/day. There is some logic behind it (any "comunity" developes in time) but this time I admit I don't expect everybody to love the idea. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Online or lan play makes the game much more fun.
I had another brainstorm about the battle timer. It is toggle on/off. It can between 10 sec and 60 sec. If you don't make a move/action after the timer goes, it will automatically click wait for you. If it is the 2nd part of the melee, it would go to defend.

Headset is also important.

Are you talking about trees animation? Are you serious??? I wanted to check out WoG some time ago, so I went there and saw some screenshots with those animated trees. And I was like WTF??? I've never seen anything more stupid and ugly than those trees. I could not play an ugly game like that.

Yes, WOG had alot of great idea's and to include them in HOMM 5 would be great,at least as options, the player can never have enough options. HOMM 3 with the expansions and WOG is fantastic (not perfect, but no such thing as perfection). All they would have to do is update the graphics and tweak it a bit more and i'd happily take it as HOMM 5. But I doubt we could be that blessed.

I especially liked WOG's boosted skills.

Finally, Eagle Eye, Mysticims, Estates and other really had very much use...

I still play heroes3 thanks to wog^_^ I love the stack exp function. Lvl 7 critters are kinda cool too.
