i've seen the bit with the mantel guy talking and the guns but the previews i've read says that a "live video feed" from the soldiers which they got to watch. has this been released to the general public?

If it's what I think you mean it was only shown behind closed doors to the media at E3, and we've never seen it...

deded's correct, the video was never released. To be honest I think it's unlikely it'll ever be released now, considering it was so long ago. Lucky you guys don't have long to wait till the game gets shown again then, eh?

I saw the video at E3 last year. Both the demo at the Ubi booth, (over and over and over) and in the Haze booth. The live action guys had a "conversation" with some grunt "on the ground" they also showed some in game play.

I for one was most impressed by the carrier.
