Myself and those on my friends list love this game. But the cheating is ruining it for us.
Here's what we are doing to combat it. Whenever we run a ranked game the scores come up after the game is over. Take an extra minute to see if anyone in your room is showing penalties over 100 or 150 points. This means they are quitters and then politely tell them you are booting them from the room and why.
I did this last night to a guy who was showing a penalty of 1065. This means two things. He is really a level 10....and....he diliberately quits games to show much lower than level 10.
I think if everyone who hosts games were in the practice of booting these people and anyone who glitches....it would reduce these occurances. Boot glitchers whether they finish the game or not.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU TELL THEM WHY YOU ARE BOOTING THEM WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE LOBBY SO THEY GET THE FREAKIN HINT!!!!!
Its only a shame you can't see this info until after you play one ranked game.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS TO COMBAT THESE PRACTICES ARE WELCOME IN THIS THREAD.
Thanks for taking the time to read this...and lets TAKE THIS GAME BACK FROM THE MORONS WHO ARE RUINING IT FOR THE REST OF US.

yes because we honestly care about ranking on here, if they want to glich kick them out when they do it to you, don't discriminate because of a penatly, I have -100 i think but its not my fault my game always boots me out of a game during the "calculating Xbox live score" or whatever it says and leaving a game half way through is not really cheating because they still get a penalty, so really your just pissed off because they don't let you have your points at the end?
Rhoulette can you pass this message on to the devs please, Lose the ranking system, ranking only means Stat*****s and Cheaters, I gaurantee if the ranking system was not in this game half the cheaters would have left months ago
and anyway, go you on your crusade/mass genoside
to please this person up the penalty to 10 thousand points because one day when the host disconnects or his xbox crashes or even he trips over his modem he can come on the forums and complain about, like this post, something no one cares about

the ranking system is also glitchy... The HOST went back to lobby in a ranked game i was in and the next round (after i won) it said i had a penalty of 100 points......... I havent left a game since i started playing well so idk what happened, anyways we need to get rid of this ranking thing

It doesn't show you penalty points after the game at all. it shows you the amount of points you have for that gamemode.
Or so I believe anyway.

My additional suggestion is minute but I would also recommend sending negative feedback as well. I know currently feedback does not signify a thing but perhaps that will revolutionize one day.

Actually Sokaar, if you can even read, it says penalties in excess of 150, i am fully aware that people might lose 100 points to a unintentional disconnect. That is not what I'm talking about...I'm talking about those who should be a level 5 or 10 or more diliberately quitting enough games to come into a room and pretend to be a newb by showing a zero or 1 for their level. So I could care less that you have a penalty of 100, but if someone is a level 1 and have a penalty of 500 showing after the game....that means they are a level 5 or 6 and 1) should not be playing in a room full of zero's and ones because they are a stat***** and 2) Could care less about quitting at the end because that will just keep them a zero for longer....I SAY BOOT THESE PEOPLE!!!! Plus I don't give a **** if you don't like my suggestion!

E man, here's the problem. When someone hosts that is a level 3 or higher, NOBODY will join their rooms! I know, because my brother is a level 3 and we will sit for 30-40 mins. at times waiting for someone to join. So, what does he do? We join someone elses room, he quits in the game, gets himself to a level 2 and then goes back to hosting.
People will join his room and we are playing within 5 mins. if he is a level 2 or below. Level 3 or higher, nobody will!
So, he has to give himself intentional penalties to allow US to game! That happens to EVERYONE! So, you have a bunch of really good players who keep themselves at a level 0, 1, or 2, just to be able to play the game.
Now, you have the people who can't host (due to connection speeds, or whatever). They get themselves up to a really good rank, playing good, fair games. Now they get to a point where they aren't welcome in a lower ranked game (such as a level 6 joining a level 2's room). What do they do? They search, but they only find a bunch of 0's, 1's, and 2's hosting. So they pick one that looks like it would be appealing to them (Knowing that atleast some of these rooms are hosted by players who are quite good at the game, but keep themselves down to get people in the rooms).
What happens to a level 6 who joins a level 2's room? They get booted! Hell, I have been booted from a level 2's room and I am a level 3!
What is this level 6 guy supposed to do? If he hosts, nobody will join. If he joins others rooms, he is booted! So, he does what he has to do, he gives himself intentional penalty after intentional penalty, until he gets to a point where he can play in a room and have atleast some games online!
This is the problem with people having the ability to EASILY affect their online rank! IF the ranks were separate from the penalties, then you would have people playing with similarly ranked people, and you wouldn't have the ENTIRE SPECTRUM of gamers playing as a level 0, 1, or 2!

That's all well and good....but what about the people who just recently spent their hard earned money on this game. They don't even have the ability to learn the ropes because they enter a room that looks like people at their level....get into the game....and get TROUNCED!!!! Even as a merc they cant take one step into the playing area...not to mention what happens when they play as spies...thats a complete wash!!!
Now I know someone earlier said nobody cares about the ranks anymore...and thats fine....it doesn't matter to me much either to be honest, however, it does matter that people should be able to easily find others that play at their level at any given point, regardless of what their rank is at the time.
Further, if your a level 6....get over hosting your own game and look for one, on optimatch I see plenty of level 4 and above waiting for people....that REAL problem is...most higher level people would rather feast on beginners!!!!!

You are wrong there E! I am a level 3 and RARELY see a level 3 or above hosting. If they are, I join them. But then the problem is back where if the room is not full, NOBODY will join it! I agree that it is wrong, but you are getting upset because people can change their ranks. That is a problem with the ranking system!
Believe me, I don't like that people have to mess with their ranks, but it is just the nature of the game with the ranking system the way it is now! When someone is a level 4, they would likely try to join a level 2's room before they would join a level 3 or 4's room (because most level 2's won't eject a level 4). It creates a viscious cycle that can only be fixed by eliminating the ability for people to EASILY affect their rank.
The penalties should be shown separate from the rank in the lobby. The penalties should NOT affect someones rank (if they win and gain points to become a level 8, the penalty should not take them away, the only way they should be able to lose points is by losing).

Hey E, not tryin to harass you or anything, but SR here is right. I was like maybe 10 or 15 points from being a level 9, and that was all from fair play, i simply never cheat. My friend was a 7 and we play together all the time, and it would take about an hour to get a game going, because optimatching simply got us booted about 95% of the time, plus being screamed at in games that i would join for being a high level. So i purposely lost about 15 games and now i'm a 7 again, i'm not going to drop down any further to make others happy, but at least now i can play the game once in awhile. Working together to end cheating and glitching just isn't gonna happen because not enough people care.

idc about my opponent's rank. i always play my best. BUT what i've been noticing is higher level players then me usually get owned by me. I'm always happy when a higher level joins one of my games cuz i'll gladly whoop em and 90% of the time they leave when they are outta lives.
and lower levels might be high ones who purposely brought their level down, so i'm always on guard.
POINT GAINING GLITCHING's gotta stop, cuz we then end up with level 8,9,10,and 11 newbies
(except for fatman)
in my opinioin anyone higher than a 6 cheated they're way up or played against newbs all day

i dunno guys, i just want ubi to patch so we can stop complaining, and start playing ranked again. i havent played ranked in awhile, which is why im a level 1. i only built up my points to a point wehre i was only like 10 points away from 2 so if some a$$hole changed it to ranked while i wasnt paying attention or something i would lose points but not be a 0. also, if UBI is doing another stat reset, which i am sure they will if they release another patch, then why worry about your rank right now? also, if your willing to let your rank go down so much, that means you dont much care for your rank at all, so play free games and you wont have to worry about all that.

What is with all these anti depressents these days? I mean, they have them for kids now! When I was a kid, my dad's idea of an anti depressent was to hold my head under the bathwater until I got a little more excited about life.

I am currently a true level four and I do not play unless I am hosting, and have to wait easily over thirty minutes for someone to join. And then in the rare occasion someone does join, I still have to kill time waiting for two others to join as well hoping the first guy does not leave. This is the main reason why I only play with people on my friends list.

You know, before the whole reset I actually cared alot about my rank but that is actually so damn stressfull because when you finally decide to play a ranked match with someone you don't know the person turns out to be completely new to the game or is just f*cking around trying stuff during a ranked match (like backflips of a wall or something). And then you can just see yourself losing while your spectating after you died and that is the main reason why I decided not to build up my rank again after the reset. Another reason was that I really didn't feel like playing 300 games again just to raise that little number behind your name to be feared by lvl 0 or 3's.
So i decided to become a feared lvl 0 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif but even that is tougher than it sounds, mainly because penalties seem to work when they want to (at least with me and my friend). Me and my friend both wanted to get a 0 so we decided to quit the game a couple of times to get lots of penalties, we did do this with some other friends so people wouldnt get pissed off, but then the penalties do appear after a ranked match but they just don't do anything to my actuall rank, they only seem to work when i become a lvl 3 but then it's just a one time penalty of a 100 points and brings me back to a 2 but that wasn't exactly what my friend and I had in mind so we picked one of our friends and raised his lvl 4 to an 8 (yes by using the 2 sec. glitch) so now we were all happy, me and my friend were deep below the 0 points and my other friend was happy because of his newly accuired lvl 8.
Live's been alot easier now because alot of people join my server, though it would have been nice if there were a bit more higher level's around because the only people that join seem to be 0's or 1's but that's ok with me.
Another funny thing is that my friend (the lvl 8) and me also play together from time to time and then people join the server and start sreaming: "he's too good for me" when my friend replies with: "My partner is actually better than me" followed by a painfull silence and later a "ow".
