Hi-Playing v1.2(when do we get.3?), career, Asiatic, 12/41. For my own reasons, I've loaded SH IV on my second computer. It has all the goodies, 2MB ram, 256 video card, etc.
Problem- Game is slow on second computer. Cursor is raggedy & it takes forever to train TBT/scope around to desired view. In my main computer, it takes (actual time by my watch) 20 seconds to traverse from straight(0) ahead to 180 degrees (straight astern.) On my 2nd computer, it takes 30 secvonds to go from 0 to 65 degrees.
Is this something I can adjust in options? If so, please advise the A,B,Cs.
Thanks, Hugh Browne

It could be that 2MB of RAM. I hope you meant 2 GB. What are your specs? Also do you have the scope set on zoom? If you have zoom on it will slow it down as it is more precise when zoomed to 6x. What OS is on that PC?

I would not expect this game to run very well on an old laptop, and that video card is a large part of it. Also, for what it's worth, the SH4 read me file mentions a lack of support for mobile video cards although many people do just fine.

catlegwest-This is a PC, not a laptop. Do0 you have any suggestions as to a video card? I just bought this for this game. HB

Oh, my bad. Yeah, you're a video card (and possibly a matching beefy power supply) away from Nirvana. You'll find many opinions here but I can tell you what I got and how it works.
I started with an Nvidia 6600 and it played SO SO at 1024x768 resolution, and bad at anything higher. I bought an Nvidia 7950GT 512MB for $280 and a $100 500 watt Antec power supply - the game runs GREAT now.
