Where is Far Cry 2 set? Story??

You can see the baobab tree on the teaser picture and on the header, so i think it will be in Africa, Australia or Madagascar... and you remember, Far Cry was on an island, so it could be MAdagascar... but there would be nothing wrong if the game is set in Africa... Africa woulg be ******* great

Needs to be isolated with not much of a civilization. Maybe natives and pissed off mercenaries!

Anyway, I guess we wil lsee something like this:
"Driving in desert we were chased by merciless mercs, unknown fools shooting wildly and screaming. It didnt took long until we crashed to woods. The night came and we were exploring the jungle while we were attacked by several beasts from tigers to snakes. We found an ancient cave and next to it was tents. We tried to go inside until we saw people coming out, scientists. We found our way inside the cave, but it was everything else than we expected, mutations it was an underground lab. We went even more deeper the creepy and freaky cave. Until we were knocked out. It didnt took long when I woke up and saw my friend being shot by a military man. Soon I was infected with something that felt very uncomfortable."
I hope we get infected. By the way that all came from my imagination (which is wilder than bordel in dutch.) That is just what I would like to see, but I guess it will be nothing like that.

Yeah, I dig the wild life thing, maybe youll be a reporter or escorting a reporter in the Havannah (central africa) and your abushed by natives and kept captive but then a corporation does a A-bomb test and all the animals are mutants and you have to fight off that corporation with the natives, or some ting like that.

But I went to Africa for a copuple of years so Im sicked for that setting!

Well if it is Africa.... we know it is one of the most desolate areas to live in. This could mean a operation is underway to create an enviroment that is stable for people to inhabit. Its also so desolate you can test secret weapons wink wink :P. Just my opinion if Far Cry 2 is set in Africa and I believe its believable.

Yeah Africa's all well and good, it'll be a great game and they'll be able to do something amazing with the environment, but some variation on top of Africa would be nice. I know the idea of world-touring Far Cry is just stupid but I can't think of very varied environments in Africa.

the story might be some other scientist like krieger is doing tests in the desert and you are a native (not a tribal one) trying to stop him with the help of some CIA or MI5 agent or summat...its a possibility
