I was a bit curious (patch 1.2) and tried it.

You know what happened?
My own Achievements have been replaced by the achievements of the person I looked at.

Do NOT compare your stats.


All I can say is - **** you UBISOFT and give me my achievements back.
I couldn't get all of them the first time because you're too dumb to code them properly.

Edit: Relogging doesn't change anything.
I was hoping that this is just a display bug but it is permanent.

Please stop making games and retrain into cleaners.
You can clean up your mess faster this way.

I suppose this could be useful though if one wanted more Dynasty Points because the Altar of Wishes is so badly put together.

This is just embarrassing at this point. I can't imagine how ****ed off I'd be if I lost my progress just because I used some bull**** implemented feature of theirs.

We all know none of you will get your achievements back either.

Someone should totally lawyer up over this **** storm that was this entire release, I want my $60.00 back.

Does this give you Dynasty points for them, if you get more achievements than you currently had, or just renders you unable to earn the achievements you "steal"?

Thanks for the warning! The only achievements I havent achieved yet were the bugged ones and I hate to lose them.

I wonder if I compare them to someone who has more, could I get there's??

Ermm... I did a compare with a friend's earlier. After reading this post, I checked my achievements again. They were still the same as I remembered them (didn't get my friend's).

I'm not going to push my luck and use the thing again though =x This 'bug' + being unable to dynasty points is enough to kill the game.

You should get more but I have no idea how the uPlay / Dynasty points are taken into consideration.

I got the stats of a 40 Level dude with less "points" than me.
Well, not anymore -> I lost achievements.
If you're lvl 1 you could take his stats...

I'm an achievement ***** and strive to absolute perfection, meaning 100% of all achievements.
This is just outrageous.

Wait... so you are saying, if I copy a blank account (some1 with no achievements), I can redo all the achievements for even more Dynasty Points to spend?!

By looking at the current patch quality and the stupidity of the developers I'd say this is possible.

I consider myself lucky that I only lost a few achievements and the risk to do ALL of them again is just too much.
I won't touch this game until I get my old stats or my money back anyway.

I don't think that will work. You will unlock the achievements again, but won't get any points for it (if you completed them before).

The customer service has been contacted...I'm curious what they have to say about this.

PS: Beeing a meticulous guy I wrote every missing achievement down (before patch 1.2). I'll know when you try to jerk me around.

HAHAHAHA, This is why I have already uninstalled this ****y game not worthy my money.. I am tottaly dissapointed - a company that has already created quite a good game is now failing and the whole game (both development and maintaining )

Still no answer from the excellent Ubifraud support or my beloved customer in**** Ubi_Irina.

I bought the game on 21.10.2011 (Steam, 49,99€) and lost every interest by now.
I don't care about 50 bucks but -as a paying customer- it's time to make a stand.
I suppose my achievements are lost anyway but even if they are not I can't stand the way Ubifraud trys to maintain this game.

Show a sign of goodwill and refund me or be the test case for future law suits between customers and publishers.

Thanx for the warning Trax, however I dont think you should insult ubisof, devs, Irina or anybody else. They havent did it for purpose you know... + you certainly wont fix it/nor speed up fixing by calling Irina **** or using similar expressions.

I'll bet they're gonna try to help. Anyway I hope you get your achievements back soon.

So guys,

there is absoutely no sense to in**** or cry. I'll ignore all the posts as far as you are not allowed to act this way on the forum.
If you want your issue to be fixed, you need to explain it as I'm here to help you (!) and developers to go ahead.

@Traxxexx: what's your login ingame? this information is crucial for us as it will allow us to check out what happened. FYI, I'm absolutely not going to do what you asked as you need to contact the customer support with this kind of demands.

I asked you for a constructive feedback what means it will be gathered and sent to the dev team. If you can not provide us with that, please, let others players post and get their answers.

As for the demand to post the list of bugs: the list is not available so far. I'm trying to get it. As far as the patch is available, go and play Heroes VI! I'll post the list if possible. If not, in every case you should show more respect to the team IMHO.

I never posted in this forum - just read a bit as I encountered tons of bugs.
The only communication I had so far was with the customer support about Dynasty Weapons.
After this useless encounter I grinded them myself (Inferno Lvl 4). This might have caused this bug actually.
I'm still missing "Iron Feather" and this Dynasty Weapon bug was supposedly fixed in this patch.

The time to stay calm and be nice is over, sorry Lodnail.

The request to track bugs on our own is just the last straw I was willing to take.
I'm fed up with it.

As for the rest of the post.. Well, can't say I blame you really, thing like this take its "emotional toll". I can understand that. Nowadays every released game is unplayably bugged when it comes out. Im Just saying not to get it under your skin. Its just a f****ng game. I'm actually quite tolerant if someone makes a mistake. Nobody is perfect. Still it's over 2 months now.

I'm a man with principles. I won't beta-test a game from a company run by money-grubbing executives.
I will get a refund one way or another.

He didn't get any of my achievements or Dynasty Points even after multiple logins or tries and I really have no idea what triggers it.
I didn't have the guts to try other way, but i just wanted to say that this bug is not always occurring.

I think, that he can do something - class action lawsuit against Ubisoft.
We can do like Christopher who has filed a $5M class action lawsuit against Ubisoft for using Starforce DRM in their games.

It seems there is a randomness to a lot of the bugs. The game is very stable to some and crashtastic to others. Makes it difficult to trackdown and fix to the programmers if they can't recreate it.

I cannot agree with you. The source code is poor quality, math calculation are not correct, the game is not stable because algorithm has some gaps. I like idea the game but bugs are horrible. Please add option for profile reset like in the beta.

PS: Why ubisoft is fighting with customers. Why you cannot reset profile or resend new keys if a profile is not working.

There is no need to be a millonaire to afford a decent legal costs insurance.
I might have exaggerated that I "always get that I want" but still - you don't know me.
Besides that there are other ways for customers to take actions against this kind of "service".

I can think of two possible ways how this bug was triggered:
a) I grinded Dynasty Weapons in Level 4 Inferno causing an error in the database.
b) I looked at the first stats I saw (letter a). Maybe you won't get the stats if you look at the second profile in the list.

Again, I don't care about the 50 bucks. This is a matter of principle. I won't wait another 2 months to play a game that was released in october.

Either you're a plant or simply delusional. I never had a problem with crashes or starting the game.
The gameplay itself on the other hand is totally bugged (not even talking about multiplayer here) and so far this piece of software is not worth to be called "1.0", especially not "1.2".
Just look at Patch 1.2 release notes (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5861060878/m/4731021179). The best part of it is that the customers have to bugtrack on their own now, again.

I'm blaming almost everyone.
- The Publisher for rushing this project when it wasn't done.
- The Project Managers for having zero overview.
- The QA team for doing a sloppy job all the time, repeatedly.
- The Community Developers for their "We almost never post and if we do it's not informative" policy.
I'm actually not mad at the developers. They're doing what they can with the resources they have.


The last game that got me this furious was "Empire Total War" which was released the same way (bugged). It was playable after 6 (!) months.
I gave those guys the benefit of the doubt and I won't do it here again.

Still, I calmed down a little.
If they're able to restore my stats in a reasonable timeframe, fine.
If I don't get them back --- They better give me my money.

Odds are most of the whining done right now are done by the very same people that bought Heroes V on launch day that whined at the buggy release and made threats to never buy a ubisoft game again. Some people never learn. It's a PC game, buy at launch at your peril! (Other golden rule, don't expect it to run on your laptop people!) It's all about expectation management.

Thing is, if you have a quick look around. People experience with bugs varies widely. I have a high end-ish cpu with a good graphic card, I had maybe two CTD in 150 hours of play. Nothing to write home about. People have to realize some unstability comes with the platform. It's never going to be as stable as a console. They also have to realize if they want it fixed, they have to report it properly. If they leave a cryptic message, coupled with threats and a vague description of what happened, that's not going to help them help you. They have to make an effort to be very specific on the circonstance that triggered it and the hardware used. Must be a nightmare to translate forum gibberish into a proper tech report.

I won't lie, I'm a bit underwhelmed by 1.2. It took out a nice chunk of bug but I'm disappointed by the omition of a couple of high profile bug that are still not addressed and the few additional bugs that where introduced. I'm sitting on the fence on whether to continue the campaign or wait for 1.3 to resume it. I guess it will depend if I get the sharkman bug because i'm at sancturary campaign now... But the moral of the story is you can be upset and everything but empty threats ain't going do anything for you.

The good news is, the bug you suffered is quite major and just might make 1.3 a priority. The longer it is unfixed, the more people they will have to restore their profile. That means a lot of work leaving it like that. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I dont think that reinstall will work becouse they saved the achievments online.

Yes well, of course in my "just started" case the solution was simple. Compare again with a person with hardly any achievements. He got even less than I had and I still had kept my personal accumulated dynasty seals. So in the end I get more of them by doing another blitzkrieg for 300 or have creatures join me. Nice!(sort of).

An attorney working on a contingency basis would totally do this if the argument was invasive DRM or fraudulent software. Conflux is a messed up, unnecessary attempt to curb piracy. (I've been kicked off both my net connection and the game when MMH6 crashes, requiring equipment resets and sometimes hard reboots, not good).

You just need a large group of individuals willing to join in the suit (which we have) who feel that the software is too invasive and the product not released in a state where it is sufficiently functional. Litigation fees would be taken care of by the attorney assuming you had a case he felt he'd win and take a % of the earnings. Ideally you'd look for someone who specializes in class action or intellectual property law.

The fanboys do not have to participate and can retain their legal rights and enjoy their awful product.

It wouldn't be the first or last time a gaming or software company was sued. DRM being removed would be a victory in its' own right, just need another person to step up and call them on it

He got even less than I had and I still had kept my personal accumulated dynasty seals. So in the end I get more of them by doing another blitzkrieg for 300 or have creatures join me. Nice!(sort of).

Yes indeed..I also made the hidious mistake to friggin look at someone elses profile (at the end of C1 map 2), which is not the same function as compare but has the same effect so..rince and repeat. Just finished my third blitzkrieg for another 300 etc.

Uh... people want and deserve to have their profiles and achievements given back. Anything less would be inadequate. A public apology coupled with a hot fix to disable the profile destruction button would be the absolute minimum that could be expected from a company. A public apology issued with a public warning to not use the offending buttons would be cheap and insufficient. To not even do that is jaw droppingly offensive.

Look, when you start the game, the Ubisoft software launcher gives you a series of updates from the Twitter account along the right hand side. They took time out of their day to make a lame joke about how Enzio from Assassin's Creed might sound like reindeer on your roof - and they still haven't bothered to put up a disclaimer "Please don't compare profiles because there is currently a bug that may wipe out all of your achievements".

There is a really serious issue and they haven't even bothered to put a notification about that in the text stream that they set up to give you updates. They'll tell you that Barack Obama got Just Dance 3 for his kids, but they won't tell you that pushing the wrong button can destroy your profile?

How does even the most committed fanboy regard this as even a little bit OK?

Ubisoft hasn't fixed the problem, or promised to fix the problem, or apologized for not being able to fix the problem, or even warned people about the problem. Below what they obviously should do about the problem, there are many levels of offensively insufficient things they could do about this that they have also failed to do!

The concept of what it saying is sound. But that guy wines a lot and he thinks he's gonna get attention by saying "im not gonna touch the game again till you give me back my profile booo hooo" I just think that ain't gonna work

Why would a non-monthly fee Developer care if you stop playing the game you already bought?

They know you'll buy all future expansions as well. They've got our balls in vices, "quitting" threats would only hold water in a monthly sub environment.

@ereius69 no, whining is most likely not going to work in getting the particular thing that you want. However, anger feels a lot better than powerlessness. And everybody wants to feel good, so you do what you can from where you are.

a) I don't wine, I'm angry.
b) I never said that I want to quit as I like the game scenario.
(I dislike the bugs and Ubisoft in general by now, refund sounds nice however you put it.)
c) I have no intention of playing when the achievements I already earned are lost.

You might play this game under different circumstances. I don't.
I want those achievements done before I even consider using the (bugged) multiplayer options.

For me beeing a dedicated achievement ***** it's either "restore profile" or "get money back".
I hope that you'll get it now.

Mmmm anger won't work either.... This forum has been filled with angry posts since the game's launch. Seriously they ignored everything and released the patch in December almost 3 months after.... I just think ur wasteing time is all but please dnt let me hold you back, I support all ur saying alas who cares.
