YES! Please yes! Maybe an Off topic, Game discussion, and a general frag doll forum. Something or anything would be wonderful. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, my preference should be clear given the thread I started. For those that don't have their wading boots on, that means I vote for having some additional forum sections, lest we lose poor Fred in the text avalanche.

Alright already! ;-)

Please decide amongst yourselves what forums you would like and I'll make it happen.

As someone who works on forums daily, I'd recommend something akin to the following:

- General Discussion
- Announcements and Upcoming Events
- Individual Board for Each Game FD participates in

That's what I'm talkin' about. What a quick response!

Off-topic
Frag Dolls discussion
PC Gaming
Console Gaming

Those are my suggestions http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

PS. Can somebody PLEASE help me by fixing the internal server error I now get when trying to reply using OSX? I did the contact us thing and gave full explanation but using Virtual PC just to use a forum is annoying because it's so slow. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

I don't believe that separating PC and console would be the best idea, for the community. Although it can get confusing when PC and console gamers get together to discuss the same game (since the same game can have different features on different platforms), the aim should be to collectively discuss a game as a whole and not alienate it by platform.

Diva, I don't think the error you're getting is you; it's the forum. I've been getting the same error since yesterday, on both Opera and IE, on two separate PCs. Don't worry, Ubi's forums tend to be tempermental now and again; it'll pass eventually http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

EDIT: Most DEFINITELY NOT you! It took me over 5 minutes just to get this posted argh! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

I dont belive in seperating them either, in fact look at my rant i went on about segreagation in the gaming world here CAL FORUMS (http://forums.caleague.com/index.php?showtopic=29958&st=45)

I know it is long, and maybe overdone- but I meant every word!

Just a suggetions but what about these topics:

- General Discussion
- Events Discussion (can post detailed information about events from the Frag Doll calendar)
- Gaming Discussion (anything and everything gaming)
- Off Topic Discussion

That would cover all the bases, no? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You need to restart your computer. There is a glitch in their forum code somewhere, but if you clean out your temporary internet files or restart your computer, that should fix it.

What would be the difference between General and Off Topic discussion?

I don't think I'd go so far as to create a section for each game at this point, but having 3-4 different categories would be nice. =)

I say leave it as it is. This forum is not nearly big enough for this kind of change. I can see implementing this addition once there are hundreds of thousands of users... but not now.

I like the nice homely feel it has. Everyone together in a big room.

Now pass me some more of grandmas baking...

From what I've seen here there should be three sections:
love
hate
gaming
random ****

Then the people who hang round here even though they apparently have a problem with the Frag Dolls can have their own place and the rest of us don't have to put up with them, there will be a place to go for the giving and receiving of shameless flattery, an on topic section and one for off topic stuff.
Would simplify things no end.

Of course you know the haters and trolls couldn't be trusted to stay under their rock, could they?

Well General would be for topics on or about the Frag Dolls and related topics. The Off topic would be about just that, off topic stuff, such as movie reviews, rants, etc.

Was just a thought. Figured I would toss my 2 cents in. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Here's how I would have it laid out if I were setting up the forum.

-The Melting Pot (any off the wall topics, just another way of saying General Discussion, only not a bland. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

-FragDolls (specifically for dicussing the FragDolls)
-Game Reviews (need I say more. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

-PC/Console Gaming (for discussing upcoming matches, things you'd like to see happen with the games or technology, etc...)

-Private Forums (This would be if you decided to have different groups of people, such as the FragDolls, the Unwashed Masses, or whatever groups you may think of and these would be more for strategic planning if you were to have a match against another group within the forum, and these would be visible to only admins and members of that particular group.)

I have them every now and then and that was one forum I actually implemented for a friend of mine. He wanted a forum, I asked for topics and he said I have free reign, come up with something that makes sense with the theme of the site and that's what I did.

It actually worked out really well too. The guy I set it up for is a hardcore PC gamer and other guys that are members on that forum just had their annual LANfest and used the forum for doing strategic planning so we had private threads setup and all that fun stuff. Easy to do too. If you know Perl that is. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
