View Full Version : Current problems that I don't wanna see in FC3

1. The spawn shield sucks. I think everyone agrees.... how about an invisible spawn(with shield) so no one can see the spawnee and the spawnee cannot see anyone else with a fade in after 10 seconds at which point player can kill and be killed instead of death timer?

2. My hands often fail. I can't count the times I've walked up to a ladder, tried to mount, and I can't because my hands don't work... or grabbing ammo also... Fix it. It sucks when you get stuck on a ledge and can't climb up or down.

3. The vehicle mechanics for entering/exiting vehicles need work. Yes, you can't exit a vehicle when something is in the way but I can't count the times i've switched seats multiple times only to be killed because I couldn't exit the vehicle in any way... I say maximum 1 seat switch then pop on out unless something is in the way on both sides.

The spawn shield does NOT suck. What does SUCK, is when you spawn and die OVER AND OVER AGAIN like on Call of Duty or Battlefield 2. And how long did it take you to come up with such a bogus idea for it's replacement?

What the developers should do is let the admin change how long the invincibility lasts. Instead of a mandatory 10 seconds, it should be set to allow a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8

There has only been 1 time I've not been able to climb a ladder. It was because I had shot an enemy and they landed at the foot of the ladder. That interfered with me climbing it. That was on a custom map. Sometimes it's just the mapmakers failure to test out their map before allowing others to play on it.

When a vehicle flips over while I'm in it, I press the Use key and I exit immediately without any seat switching animation. It is true though that your character will switch seats if the doors get blocked. Instead of asking for the game's creators to change this, you could just be more careful when driving. Don't drive in areas where you and other teammates in the car could end up getting trapped.

And what makes you think Far Cry 3 -if they even make it BTW-, will be anything like Far Cry 2? Since the first Far Cry is nothing like the second.

I agree with the spawn shield thing, but only because you dont know they have it until you waste a clip on their face. Maybe a red aura around a player would designate him as being invulnerable until he/she shoots.

What the engine SHOULD do is simply put the player as far from enemies as possible.

What are you talking about? When an enemy player is invincible you can see their invincibility shield and their name when you are looking at them. I see it all the time. The problem is that it lasts too long.

yes, i must be glitching, because I never see it. Sometimes player names on my tean do not show either, and I assume they are the enemy since there is no green tag above them. I proceed to blow them away and then get razzed for Tking.

I have to explain that I cannot see their names sometimes, and it can be annoying.

none of the above changes tha fact that you should NOT spawn in fire, you should NOT spawn in a stream of enemy bullets and you should NOT spawn right behind an enemy.

You sir, are mistaken. The spawn shield does suck. Kevin had an excellent idea with the engine spawning players farthest away from enemies... I still like the idea of being able to roam from a spawn point before you spawn and then instantly appearing, able to kill and be killed.

That's nice that you can climb ladders, pick up ammo, etc. etc. (anything that requires your hands(like opening a car door) but some of us can't and it's not because we're ******ed to the point that we don't know how to press e...

The switching seats problem happens. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens and it's not because the vehicle has flipped over... once again I am not drunk, nor do i have the IQ of a 2 year old... I've played farcry 2 enough that I think I have a pretty good idea of how the game mechanics work.

Lastly, I think i recall seeing a post about fc3 bugs or something awhile back but I wasn't able to find the post... And in the future, try not to be so brackish about everything... it makes people hate you.

Ooooh this thread is getting all Christmassy!

One of my complaints is if you remap the E key not all of its functions move with it.
