When im in tws mode and range is 50nm and i have an enemy tick in the middle of the hud, does this mean that he is around 20 to 25nm away. So when you have an enemy tick at the top of your hud he is 50nm away is this correct. What is the distance of each line on the hud to the right(i think or left) when in 50nm settings. Thanks

If you are talking about the MIG/27/33
It is the opposite http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif The lower on the hud the image is, the CLOSER they are.
You can see a "arrow" show up on the inside of the range scale on the left of your hud when you have a bandit "bugged" in TWS.
The range scale will automatically adjust as the bandit closes.
The scale is split into "1/5's".
So if the range is set to 50 KILOMETERS each notch on the outside of the vertical range scale would be an increment of 10km. Once you reach 1/2 way down the scale (2.5 notches) the scale range will change to 25Km and each increment will be 5km
p.s. If you don't have them "bugged" in TWS or "locked" in STT you will not recieve the "arrow" on the inside of the scale, but the same principles apply to the position of the bandits image on the hud, and you can "eyeball" there position on the scale.
