I bought Splinter Cell Conviction two weeks ago and I get to the laboratory level and every time Sam dies, the game freezes and will not load my last checkpoint. The levels before it worked fine and other games work fine on my console. I've heard of some freezing issues for this game on 360. Anyone have a clue how to fix it?

I tried calling tech for a replacement but they are no help what-so-ever. Like I really have time to stand in Wal-Mart and play for 2 or more hours to see if it freezes on the lab level. I bought their last copy so there's no exchanging it. :-/

Have you removed the disc to see if it has a scratch or maybe something on it?

Do you have all updates?

What type of xbox do you have?

When you say laboratory, do you mean somewhere in white box ?

When you say you contacted support, just what exactly did you do?
Was it this support > http://www.ubi.com/us/support/

No scratches on the disk. It's brand new.

When I started playing it, it updated my xbox.

I have an older xbox 360; bought it in 2006-2007.

Yeah, Whitebox Laboratories I think is the name of the level.

I called them to get an RMA # for a replacement disk. The lady I talked to wouldn't let me get a word in when I tried to tell her the game was brand new and that my xbox plays other games completely fine. She kept telling me to go to test it on someone else's xbox or on the store's demo xbox. I have a job and kids. I don't have time to go to someone's house or stand in the store for two or three hours to get back to that level to see if it freezes. But I compromised. I sent it home with my brother-in-law to see if it freezes on his.

I'll probably never see it again. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I am not on my pc at the moment, but I do know that Ubi has a help page thing.
I know you had said you called the phone number to try to get an RMA# - Sometimes using their online thing helps

Be as descriptive as possible.

It's funny because freezing issues are actually the norm with Conviction.

If you haven't experienced freezing issues while playing Conviction, then I recommend trading your copy in for one that doesn't work.

Or, you could just buy any of the collector's/limited/special editions in the hopes that your luck translates into receiving a USB in perfect working order.
